E. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO THE DEACTIVATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO MAINTENANCE WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS PROCEDURE, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED OPERATION AND THUS OF INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

(1) Open the right thrust reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.

4. Procedure

CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.

CAUTION: REMOVE AND INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE AND ADJACENT COMPONENTS.

Subtask 30-21-21-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the Nacelle Anti-Ice Solenoid-Manifold
(1) Disconnect the solenoid harnesses from the solenoid manifold (1).
(2) Install CAP - PROTECTION on the solenoid harness connectors.
(3) Disconnection of the forward valve 1 and 2 sense-tubes
(a) Disconnect the forward valve 1 sense-tube from the solenoid manifold (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-12-000-801).
(b) Disconnect the forward valve 2 sense-tube from the solenoid manifold (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-12-000-801).
(c) Install the CAP - BLANKING on the forward valve 1 sense tube, forward valve 2 sense tube, and solenoid manifold (1).
(4) Remove the four bolts (3) and the four washers (2) that attach the solenoid manifold (1) to engine case bracket.
(5) Remove the solenoid manifold (1) from the engine.
