- The clearance "C" must be between 31.0 mm (1.2205 in.) and 37.0 mm (1.4567 in.).
NOTE: The barrel of the operating link has two parts which are joined with a swivel link. Thus, if you turn one part of the barrel, only the eye-end related to that part is adjusted.
(26) Temporarily tighten the locknuts (33) and (35). (27) Adjust the blades of the RAT until they align with the index marks on the leg assembly.
NOTE: If the blades do not align, the index mechanism will prevent the retraction of the RAT.
(28) Retract the RAT slowly (Ref. AMM TASK 29-22-00-869-006). (29) Make sure that there is a clearance between the RAT, the link and the door during retraction.
(30) Install the 98D29208246000 SAFETY DEVICE-RAT or the 98D29208246001 DEVICE-SAFETY,RAT to prevent an accidental extension of the RAT (Ref. AMM TASK 29-22-00-860-007).
(31) Loosen one of the two locknuts (33) and (35) and turn the barrel of the door-operation link to adjust the inner (RH) door.
NOTE: The inner door is adjusted correctly when it is flush with the outer door and :
(32) Extend and retract the RAT to make sure that the RAT door seals are in their correct position (Ref. AMM TASK 29-22-00-869-005) and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-22-00-869-006). - The clearance V between both doors is between 2.0 mm (0.0787 in.) and 5.0 mm (0.1969 in.) along the longitudinal joint and
- The clearances R, S, T, U, K, L, M, N, are between 2.0 mm (0.0787 in.) and 3.0 mm (0.1181 in.).
(33) The mismatch tolerance O, P, Q, along the longitudinal joint must be between 0.0 mm (0.0000 in.) and 1.50 mm (0.0591 in.).
(34) Temporarily tighten the locknuts (33) and (35).
NOTE: If there is not enough adjustment available (the eye-end goes out of "safety"), then loosen the other locknut and adjust that end of the door operating link. Tighten the locknut when the adjustment is satisfactory.
(35) Remove the 98D29208246000 SAFETY DEVICE-RAT or the 98D29208246001 DEVICE-SAFETY,RAT (Ref. AMM TASK 29-22-00-860-008). (36) Extend the RAT (Ref. AMM TASK 29-22-00-869-005).
(37) Make sure that the two door-operating links are in a safe condition.
(38) Make sure that you cannot put a wire 1.2 mm (0.0472 in.) thick through the check holes of the links.
(39) Tighten the locknuts (30), (32), (33) and (35).
(40) Safety the locknuts with the lockwire,
D. Do this Test
(1) Retract the RAT (Ref. AMM TASK 29-22-00-869-006).
(2) Make sure that the RAT, the links and the doors operate correctly when the RAT retracts.
5. Close-up(1) Retract the RAT (Ref. AMM TASK 29-22-00-869-006).
(2) Make sure that the RAT, the links and the doors operate correctly when the RAT retracts.
