C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
Subtask 29-15-61-010-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the right thrust-reverser cowl-door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

(2) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at the hydraulic/fuel pylon interface.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the right thrust-reverser cowl-door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

(2) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at the hydraulic/fuel pylon interface.
Subtask 29-15-61-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Tie Rods of the Pylon Fuel-Hydraulic Panel
(a) Install the rod ends of the upper tie rod (6) on the pylon fitting and on the fitting of the fuel hydraulic panel (7).
(b) Install the washers (4) and the bolts (5).
(c) Install the bushes (3), washers (2) and nuts (1).
(d) Tighten the nuts (1).
(2) Installation of the lower tie rod:
(a) Install the rod ends of the lower tie rod (13) on the pylon fitting and on the fitting of the fuel hydraulic panel (7).
(b) Install the washers (11) and the bolts (12).
(c) Install the bushes (10), washers (9) and nuts (8).
(d) Tighten the nuts (8).
(3) Manually turn the body of the tie rods (6) and (13) to make sure that there is no tension on the tie rods.
(a) If you can turn the body of the rod, it is not necessary to adjust the tie rods. Go to Para. 5.
(b) If you cannot turn the body of a tie rod:
1 Release the tension on the applicable tie rod:
b Loosen the nuts (15).
c Turn the body of the applicable tie rod to release the tension on the rod.
d Tighten the nuts (15).
e Remove the applicable tie rod (Ref. AMM TASK 29-15-61-000-801).
14QDC1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.5 mm (0.020 inch) CRES - (14).
g Do Steps 4.A.(1) or 4.A.(2) thru 4.A.(3) again.
5. Close-upNOTE: If you install a new lower or upper tie rod, the new tie rod is pre-adjusted to a given length. This length is related to the part number of the tie rod.
(1) Installation of the upper tie rod: (a) Install the rod ends of the upper tie rod (6) on the pylon fitting and on the fitting of the fuel hydraulic panel (7).
(b) Install the washers (4) and the bolts (5).
(c) Install the bushes (3), washers (2) and nuts (1).
(d) Tighten the nuts (1).
(2) Installation of the lower tie rod:
(a) Install the rod ends of the lower tie rod (13) on the pylon fitting and on the fitting of the fuel hydraulic panel (7).
(b) Install the washers (11) and the bolts (12).
(c) Install the bushes (10), washers (9) and nuts (8).
(d) Tighten the nuts (8).
(3) Manually turn the body of the tie rods (6) and (13) to make sure that there is no tension on the tie rods.
(a) If you can turn the body of the rod, it is not necessary to adjust the tie rods. Go to Para. 5.
(b) If you cannot turn the body of a tie rod:
1 Release the tension on the applicable tie rod:
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
a Cut, remove and discard the lockwire (14). b Loosen the nuts (15).
c Turn the body of the applicable tie rod to release the tension on the rod.
d Tighten the nuts (15).
e Remove the applicable tie rod (Ref. AMM TASK 29-15-61-000-801).
NOTE: It is necessary to remove the tie rod because the installation of lockwire on the nuts (15) is not possible when the tie rod is connected.
f Safety the nuts (15) with the g Do Steps 4.A.(1) or 4.A.(2) thru 4.A.(3) again.

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Close the right thrust-reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-802):
