4. Procedure
Subtask 29-15-61-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Tie Rods of the Pylon Fuel-Hydraulic Panel
NOTE: If you install a new lower or upper tie rod, the new tie rod is pre-adjusted to a given length. This length is related to the part number of the tie rod.
   (1) Installation of the upper tie rod:
     (a) Install the rod ends of the upper tie rod (6) on the pylon fitting and on the fitting of the fuel hydraulic panel (7).
     (b) Install the washers (4) and the bolts (5).
     (c) Install the bushes (3), washers (2) and nuts (1).
     (d) Tighten the nuts (1).
   (2) Installation of the lower tie rod:
     (a) Install the rod ends of the lower tie rod (13) on the pylon fitting and on the fitting of the fuel hydraulic panel (7).
     (b) Install the washers (11) and the bolts (12).
     (c) Install the bushes (10), washers (9) and nuts (8).
     (d) Tighten the nuts (8).
   (3) Manually turn the body of the tie rods (6) and (13) to make sure that there is no tension on the tie rods.
     (a) If you can turn the body of the rod, it is not necessary to adjust the tie rods. Go to Para. 5.
     (b) If you cannot turn the body of a tie rod:
1 Release the tension on the applicable tie rod:
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
a Cut, remove and discard the lockwire (14).
         b Loosen the nuts (15).
c Turn the body of the applicable tie rod to release the tension on the rod.
         d Tighten the nuts (15).
e Remove the applicable tie rod (Ref. AMM TASK 29-15-61-000-801).
NOTE: It is necessary to remove the tie rod because the installation of lockwire on the nuts (15) is not possible when the tie rod is connected.
         f Safety the nuts (15) with the 14QDC1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.5 mm (0.020 inch) CRES - (14).
         g Do Steps 4.A.(1) or 4.A.(2) thru 4.A.(3) again.
