A. Safety Precautions

WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.

(1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures when you do work on the hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
(2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system.
(4) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Extend the flaps for access (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
(2) Install the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION on the flap/slat control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002).

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

(3) Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
(4) Depressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(5) Disconnect the isolation coupling of the PTU (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).

D. Get Access
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) below the access panel 673CB.
(2) Remove the access panels 673CB and 673EB (Ref. AMM TASK 57-51-37-000-002).
(3) Put a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) below the damper (1).
(4) Put a CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the access panel 673EB.

4. Procedure
Subtask 29-13-53-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the Damper

WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

(1) Remove and discard the lockwire from the damper (1).
(2) Remove the damper (1) from the connector (3).
(3) Remove and discard the O-ring (2) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-29-00-911-002).
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
