Servicing of the Engine-Pump Case-Drain Filter

DO NOT TOUCH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS STAY HOT FOR SOME TIME AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION:
DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002)
(2) Depressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001)

B. Safety Precautions
(1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system on the ground service panel.
(3) On the HYD section of panel 40VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system.
(4) Open access door 195BB:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system.
(5) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
Subtask 29-13-43-010-070-A (1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
- Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate this pushbutton switch.
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system on the ground service panel.
(3) On the HYD section of panel 40VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system.
(4) Open access door 195BB:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system.
(5) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
- Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
- Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
- Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
- Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
C. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position at the engine.
4. Procedure(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
(a) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position at the engine.

A. Servicing of the Engine-Pump Case-Drain Filter
(1) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the engine-pump case drain filter (1).
(2) Removal of the cartridge
(b) Put a WRENCH - STANDARD to the nut on the bottom of the filter bowl (3) and turn the filter bowl (3) counterclockwise until you remove it.
(c) Remove the cartridge (2).
(d) Drain the hydraulic fluid from the filter bowl (3) into the container.
(e) Do a visual check of the pop-out indicator and of the cartridge (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-43-200-803).
(f) Discard the cartridge (2).
(g) Clean the filter bowl (3) internally and externally with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) Installation of the cartridge
(a) Apply hydraulic fluid:
(d) Safetying of the filter bowl

Subtask 29-13-43-710-062-A (1) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the engine-pump case drain filter (1).
(2) Removal of the cartridge
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(a) Cut, remove and discard the lockwire from the filter bowl (3) and the engine-pump case drain filter (1). (b) Put a WRENCH - STANDARD to the nut on the bottom of the filter bowl (3) and turn the filter bowl (3) counterclockwise until you remove it.
(c) Remove the cartridge (2).
(d) Drain the hydraulic fluid from the filter bowl (3) into the container.
(e) Do a visual check of the pop-out indicator and of the cartridge (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-43-200-803).
(f) Discard the cartridge (2).
(g) Clean the filter bowl (3) internally and externally with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) Installation of the cartridge
(a) Apply hydraulic fluid:
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE HIGH-DENSITY FLUID SKYDROL 500B-4 FOR A320NEO FAMILY. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS.
1 Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) on the O-ring (4) of the new cartridge (2) and on the threads of the filter bowl (3). NOTE: The O-ring (4) is a part of the cartridge (2).
(b) Put a new AIPC 29-13-43-50-030 CARTRIDGE (2) into the filter bowl (3). NOTE: If you install the alternative cartridge P/N CH0184101362C01, it is necessary to install an O-ring (4) P/N NAS1613-214 before you install the cartridge.
(c) Installation of the filter bowl CAUTION:
DO NOT USE A WRENCH TO TIGHTEN THE FILTER CASE. TIGHTEN IT WITH YOUR HAND ONLY.
IF YOU USE A WRENCH YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
1 Install the filter bowl (3) with the cartridge (2) in the engine-pump case-drain filter (1) and turn the filter bowl (3) clockwise with your hand until it is fully engaged. (d) Safetying of the filter bowl
WARNING:

1 Safety the filter bowl (3) to the engine-pump case-drain filter (1) with B. Operational Test
(1) Do an operational test of the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-00-710-002).
(2) After the dry motoring, make sure that there were no leak from the engine-pump case-drain filter.
5. Close-up(1) Do an operational test of the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-00-710-002).
