B. Safety Precautions
(1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
(4) Make sure that you did the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).
Subtask 29-13-43-010-065-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
- Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
- Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate this pushbutton switch.
- On the HYD section of panel 40VU
- On access door 198CB, on the ground-service panel of the Yellow hydraulic system.
(4) Make sure that you did the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).
C. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position at the engine.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position at the engine.

A. Installation of the Case-Drain Filter Assembly
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(4) Make sure that a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the filter assembly (1).
(5) Removal of the protection covers
(6) Mix thePU4-0002 epoxy primer, fluid resistant , PU4-0004 curing solution, epoxy primer and thinner (Material No.PU4-0005) or thinner (Material No.PU4-0008) . Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
(7) Attach the hydraulic filter assembly (1) to the filter case drain bracket with the four bolts (7) and the four washers (6). Wet-install the four bolts (7) withPU4-0002 epoxy primer, fluid resistant mixture.
(8) TORQUE the bolts (7) to between 90 and 81 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.92 m.daN )
.
(9) Remove the unwanted epoxy primer with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) andPU2-0001 alcohol, isopropyl .
(10) Apply a thin layer of lubricant (Material No.PU6-0003) or Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) or equivalent to the new EIPC 29-11-86-20-230 PACKING (2) and to the threads of the unions (3).
(11) Apply a thin layer of lubricant (Material No.PU6-0003) or Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) or equivalent to the threads of the couplings on the pylon fan case drain tube and filter fan case drain tube.
(12) Apply a thin layer of lubricant (Material No.PU6-0003) or Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) or equivalent to the threads of the ports on the filter assembly (1).
(13) Put the new packings (2) on the unions (3) and install the unions (3) in the two ports of the filter assembly (1).
(14) TORQUE the unions (3) to between 164.62 and 154.89 lbf.in (1.86 and 1.75 m.daN )
.
(15) Connect the pylon fan case drain tube to the union (3) on the filter assembly (1).
(a) Use a second wrench to hold the union on the filter assembly when you tighten the coupling nut on the hose/tube.
(16) TORQUE the coupling on the pylon fan case drain tube to between 245 and 215 lbf.in (2.77 and 2.43 m.daN )

(17) Connect the filter fan case tube to the union (3) of the filter assembly (1).
(a) Use a second wrench to hold the union on the filter assembly when you tighten the coupling nut on the hose/tube.
(18) TORQUE the coupling on the filter fan case tube to between 245 and 215 lbf.in (2.77 and 2.43 m.daN )
.
(19) Attach the filter fan case tube and the clamp to the filter case drain bracket. Use the bolt (5) and the washer (4).
(20) Attach the pylon fan case drain tube and the clamp to the case drain bracket above the hydraulic filter assembly (1). Use the bolt (5) and washer (4).
(21) TORQUE the bolts (5) to between 35 and 31.5 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.36 m.daN )
.
(22) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
Subtask 29-13-43-420-058-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
HYDRAULIC FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT. IF HYDRAULIC FLUID FALLS ON A SURFACE, IMMEDIATELY CLEAN THE SURFACE WITH A CLEAN CLOTH.
CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
- ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
- ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(4) Make sure that a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the filter assembly (1).
(5) Removal of the protection covers
CAUTION:
REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
(a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine. (6) Mix the

(12) Apply a thin layer of lubricant (Material No.PU6-0003) or Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) or equivalent to the threads of the ports on the filter assembly (1).
(13) Put the new packings (2) on the unions (3) and install the unions (3) in the two ports of the filter assembly (1).
(14) TORQUE the unions (3) to between 164.62 and 154.89 lbf.in (1.86 and 1.75 m.daN )
. (15) Connect the pylon fan case drain tube to the union (3) on the filter assembly (1).
(a) Use a second wrench to hold the union on the filter assembly when you tighten the coupling nut on the hose/tube.
(16) TORQUE the coupling on the pylon fan case drain tube to between 245 and 215 lbf.in (2.77 and 2.43 m.daN )
. (17) Connect the filter fan case tube to the union (3) of the filter assembly (1).
(a) Use a second wrench to hold the union on the filter assembly when you tighten the coupling nut on the hose/tube.
(18) TORQUE the coupling on the filter fan case tube to between 245 and 215 lbf.in (2.77 and 2.43 m.daN )
. (19) Attach the filter fan case tube and the clamp to the filter case drain bracket. Use the bolt (5) and the washer (4).
(20) Attach the pylon fan case drain tube and the clamp to the case drain bracket above the hydraulic filter assembly (1). Use the bolt (5) and washer (4).
(21) TORQUE the bolts (5) to between 35 and 31.5 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.36 m.daN )
. (22) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line

(12) Apply a thin layer of lubricant (Material No.PU6-0003) or Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) or equivalent to the threads of the ports on the filter assembly (1).
(13) Put the new packings (2) on the unions (3) and install the unions (3) in the two ports of the filter assembly (1).
(14) TORQUE the unions (3) to between 164.62 and 154.89 lbf.in (1.86 and 1.75 m.daN )

(15) Connect the pylon fan case drain tube to the union (3) on the filter assembly (1).

(19) Attach the filter fan case tube and the clamp to the filter case drain bracket. Use the bolt (5) and the washer (4).
(20) Attach the pylon fan case drain tube and the clamp to the case drain bracket above the hydraulic filter assembly (1). Use the bolt (5) and washer (4).
(21) TORQUE the bolts (5) to between 35 and 31.5 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.36 m.daN )

(22) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).

HYDRAULIC FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT. IF HYDRAULIC FLUID FALLS ON A SURFACE, IMMEDIATELY CLEAN THE SURFACE WITH A CLEAN CLOTH.

(13) Put the new packings (2) on the unions (3) and install the unions (3) in the two ports of the filter assembly (1).
(14) TORQUE the unions (3) to between 164.62 and 154.89 lbf.in (1.86 and 1.75 m.daN )

(18) TORQUE the coupling on the filter fan case tube to between 245 and 215 lbf.in (2.77 and 2.43 m.daN )
. (19) Attach the filter fan case tube and the clamp to the filter case drain bracket. Use the bolt (5) and the washer (4).
(20) Attach the pylon fan case drain tube and the clamp to the case drain bracket above the hydraulic filter assembly (1). Use the bolt (5) and washer (4).
(21) TORQUE the bolts (5) to between 35 and 31.5 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.36 m.daN )
. (22) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line

B. Operational Test
(1) Do an operational test of the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-00-710-002).
(2) After the dry motoring, make sure that there were no leak from the case drain filter assembly (1) or from hydraulic connections.
