Removal of the Yellow Engine-2 Thrust-Reverser Case-Drain Check-Valve
WARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS STAY HOT FOR SOME TIME AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.
CAUTION:
DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.
CAUTION:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE THE CHECK VALVE AS THE HYDRAULIC FLUID WILL FLOW OUT.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
(2) Depressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
Subtask 29-13-35-941-060-A (1) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized.

(2) Depressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
B. Safety Precautions
(1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system on the ground service panel.
(3) On the HYD section of panel 40VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system.
(4) Open access door 195BB:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system.
(5) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
Subtask 29-13-35-010-063-A (1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
- Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate this pushbutton switch.
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system on the ground service panel.
(3) On the HYD section of panel 40VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system.
(4) Open access door 195BB:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system.
(5) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
- Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
- Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
- Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
- Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
C. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

D. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
Subtask 29-13-35-010-064-A WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807). E. Get Access
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at the pylon.
4. Procedure(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at the pylon.
Subtask 29-13-35-020-058-A
A. Removal of the Yellow Engine-2 Thrust-Reverser Case-Drain Check-Valve
(2) Hold the check valve (3) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and remove the pylon tube (4) from the check valve (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-49-000-815).
(3) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(4) Hold the flanged tee (1) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and remove the check valve (3).
(5) Remove and discard the O-ring (2).
(6) Put PLUG - BLANKING on the flanged tee port.
(7) Put CAP - PROTECTION on the two ends of the check valve (3).
CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
(1) Put a CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) in position below the check valve (3). - ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
- ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
(2) Hold the check valve (3) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and remove the pylon tube (4) from the check valve (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-49-000-815).
(3) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(4) Hold the flanged tee (1) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and remove the check valve (3).
(5) Remove and discard the O-ring (2).
(6) Put PLUG - BLANKING on the flanged tee port.
(7) Put CAP - PROTECTION on the two ends of the check valve (3).
