Removal of the Damper
WARNING:
PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE FLIGHT CONTROL SAFETY-LOCKS AND THE WARNING NOTICES ARE IN POSITION.

A. Safety Precautions
(2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system.
(4) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.
Subtask 29-11-53-860-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
(1) You must obey the hydraulic safety procedures when you do work on the hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002). (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system.
(4) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Extend the flaps for access (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
(2) Install the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION on the flap/slat control lever.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
(4) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(5) Disconnect the the isolation coupling of the PTU (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
Subtask 29-11-53-865-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Extend the flaps for access (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
(2) Install the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION on the flap/slat control lever.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(3) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
(4) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(5) Disconnect the the isolation coupling of the PTU (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
C. Open, safety and tag this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) below the access panel 573CB.
(2) Remove the access panels 573CB and 573EB (Ref. AMM TASK 57-51-37-000-002).
(3) Put a clean lint-free cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) below the damper (1).
(4) Put a CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the access panel 573EB.
4. Procedure(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) below the access panel 573CB.
(2) Remove the access panels 573CB and 573EB (Ref. AMM TASK 57-51-37-000-002).
(3) Put a clean lint-free cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) below the damper (1).
(4) Put a CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the access panel 573EB.
Subtask 29-11-53-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Damper
(2) Remove the damper (1) from the connector (3).
(3) Remove and discard the O-ring (2) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-29-00-911-002).
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(1) Cut, remove and discard the lockwire from the damper (1). (2) Remove the damper (1) from the connector (3).
(3) Remove and discard the O-ring (2) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-29-00-911-002).
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
