Installation of the Hydraulic Case Drain Tubes

DO NOT GET HYDRAULIC FLUID ON YOUR SKIN, IN YOUR EYES OR IN YOUR MOUTH. HYDRAULIC FLUID IS POISONOUS AND CAN GO THROUGH YOUR SKIN AND INTO YOUR BODY. FLUSH HYDRAULIC FLUID FROM YOUR EYES, MOUTH OR SKIN WITH WATER. GET MEDICAL AID IF YOU GET HYDRAULIC FLUID IN YOUR EYES OR MOUTH.

CAUTION:
DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

Subtask 29-11-49-860-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
(2) Make sure that the Green hydraulic reservoir is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
Subtask 29-11-49-941-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
(2) Make sure that the Green hydraulic reservoir is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
- on the ground service panel 197CB.
B. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
(6) Make sure that a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is below the suction-hose adapter connection to the hydraulic pump.
Subtask 29-11-49-010-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
- make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
- in the cockpit, on the HYD section of the overhead panel 40VU.
- make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(6) Make sure that a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is below the suction-hose adapter connection to the hydraulic pump.
C. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowls are open:
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
make sure that the doors 437AL 438AR are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010).
(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at the engine.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the fan cowls are open:
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
make sure that the doors 437AL 438AR are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010).
(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at the engine.
Subtask 29-11-49-110-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation before Installation
(1) Remove the applicable covers/caps/plugs from the openings.
(2) Clean the replacement parts and their interfaces.
(a) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with cleaning fluid (Material No.V01-002) and clean the replacement parts and their interfaces.
(b) Use a clean dry Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and remove the dirty cleaning fluid from the parts while they are wet.
(3) Lightly lubricate the threads and abutment faces of the hydraulic system tube/hose nuts, unions and couplings with the Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) used in the aircraft hydraulic system.
(4) Put the clip (53) on to the hose (8) in the position written on removal (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-49-000-012).
Subtask 29-11-49-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the applicable covers/caps/plugs from the openings.
(2) Clean the replacement parts and their interfaces.
(a) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with cleaning fluid (Material No.V01-002) and clean the replacement parts and their interfaces.
(b) Use a clean dry Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and remove the dirty cleaning fluid from the parts while they are wet.
(3) Lightly lubricate the threads and abutment faces of the hydraulic system tube/hose nuts, unions and couplings with the Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) used in the aircraft hydraulic system.
(4) Put the clip (53) on to the hose (8) in the position written on removal (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-49-000-012).
B. Install the hydraulic case-drain tubes:
(1) Make sure that these parts are installed in the same positions they were removed from (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-49-000-012):
(a) The clamps (14), (17), (37) and (39) and the clip (53)
(b) The bolts (13), (16), (36), (40) and (54).
(c) The hoses (3) and (8) and the tube (5).
(2) Install the tube (5):
(a) Put the tube (5) in the correct position on the engine for its installation.
(b) Attach the connector nuts of the tube (5) to the unions (31) and (51). Tighten the connector nuts with your hand.
(c) Hold the union (31) with an applicable wrench.
(d) TORQUE the nut (30) to between 150 and 120 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.36 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(e) Loosely assemble the two halves of the clamp (39) and the three bolts (40) to the raft (38).
(f) Remove the safety ties from the clamp (39) and the raft (38).
(g) Loosely assemble the two halves of the clamp (37) and the three bolts (36) to the raft (34).
(h) Remove the safety ties from the clamp (37) and the raft (34).
(i) Hold the union (31) with an applicable wrench.
(j) TORQUE the connector nut of the tube (5) to between 245 and 215 lbf.in (2.77 and 2.43 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(k) Hold the union (51) with an applicable wrench.
(l) TORQUE the connector nut of the tube (5) to between 245 and 215 lbf.in (2.77 and 2.43 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(m) TORQUE the bolts (36) and (40) to between 110 and 90 lbf.in (1.24 and 1.02 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(3) Install the bottom hose (8).
(a) Connect the hose (8) to the unions (52) and (55).
(b) Attach the clip (53) to the bracket with the bolt (54).
(c) TORQUE the bolt (54) to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(d) Hold the union (52) with an applicable wrench.
(e) TORQUE the connector nut of the hose (8) to between 245 and 215 lbf.in (2.77 and 2.43 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(f) Hold the union (55) with an applicable wrench.
(g) TORQUE the connector nut of the hose (8) to between 245 and 215 lbf.in (2.77 and 2.43 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(4) Install the top hose (3).
(a) Put the hose (3) in the correct position into the clamps (14) and (17) for its installation.
(b) Connect the hose (3) to the union (31).
(c) Hold the union (31) with an applicable wrench.
(d) TORQUE the connector nut of the hose (3) to between 245 and 215 lbf.in (2.77 and 2.43 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(e) Connect the hose (3) to the aircraft pylon interface.
(f) TORQUE the connector nut of the hose (3) to between 245 and 215 lbf.in (2.77 and 2.43 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(g) Install the bolt (13) on the clamp (14).
(h) TORQUE the bolt (13) to between 110 and 90 lbf.in (1.24 and 1.02 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(i) Install the bolt (16) on the clamp (17).
(j) TORQUE the bolt (16) to between 110 and 90 lbf.in (1.24 and 1.02 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(5) Remove the covers/caps/plugs from the quick release coupling (1), the hose (3) and the hose (4).
(6) Remove the container.
Subtask 29-11-49-710-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that these parts are installed in the same positions they were removed from (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-49-000-012):
(a) The clamps (14), (17), (37) and (39) and the clip (53)
(b) The bolts (13), (16), (36), (40) and (54).
(c) The hoses (3) and (8) and the tube (5).
(2) Install the tube (5):
(a) Put the tube (5) in the correct position on the engine for its installation.
(b) Attach the connector nuts of the tube (5) to the unions (31) and (51). Tighten the connector nuts with your hand.
(c) Hold the union (31) with an applicable wrench.
(d) TORQUE the nut (30) to between 150 and 120 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.36 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). (e) Loosely assemble the two halves of the clamp (39) and the three bolts (40) to the raft (38).
(f) Remove the safety ties from the clamp (39) and the raft (38).
(g) Loosely assemble the two halves of the clamp (37) and the three bolts (36) to the raft (34).
(h) Remove the safety ties from the clamp (37) and the raft (34).
(i) Hold the union (31) with an applicable wrench.
(j) TORQUE the connector nut of the tube (5) to between 245 and 215 lbf.in (2.77 and 2.43 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). (k) Hold the union (51) with an applicable wrench.
(l) TORQUE the connector nut of the tube (5) to between 245 and 215 lbf.in (2.77 and 2.43 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). (m) TORQUE the bolts (36) and (40) to between 110 and 90 lbf.in (1.24 and 1.02 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). (3) Install the bottom hose (8).
(a) Connect the hose (8) to the unions (52) and (55).
(b) Attach the clip (53) to the bracket with the bolt (54).
(c) TORQUE the bolt (54) to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). (d) Hold the union (52) with an applicable wrench.
(e) TORQUE the connector nut of the hose (8) to between 245 and 215 lbf.in (2.77 and 2.43 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). (f) Hold the union (55) with an applicable wrench.
(g) TORQUE the connector nut of the hose (8) to between 245 and 215 lbf.in (2.77 and 2.43 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). (4) Install the top hose (3).
(a) Put the hose (3) in the correct position into the clamps (14) and (17) for its installation.
(b) Connect the hose (3) to the union (31).
(c) Hold the union (31) with an applicable wrench.
(d) TORQUE the connector nut of the hose (3) to between 245 and 215 lbf.in (2.77 and 2.43 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). (e) Connect the hose (3) to the aircraft pylon interface.
(f) TORQUE the connector nut of the hose (3) to between 245 and 215 lbf.in (2.77 and 2.43 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). (g) Install the bolt (13) on the clamp (14).
(h) TORQUE the bolt (13) to between 110 and 90 lbf.in (1.24 and 1.02 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). (i) Install the bolt (16) on the clamp (17).
(j) TORQUE the bolt (16) to between 110 and 90 lbf.in (1.24 and 1.02 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). (5) Remove the covers/caps/plugs from the quick release coupling (1), the hose (3) and the hose (4).
(6) Remove the container.
C. Operational Test
(1) Do the operational test of the thrust reverser (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-041).
(2) Make sure that there are no leaks from the connections.
(3) Make sure that the level of the hydraulic fluid in the Green reservoir is correct. If necessary, fill the reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
5. Close-up(1) Do the operational test of the thrust reverser (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-041).
(2) Make sure that there are no leaks from the connections.
(3) Make sure that the level of the hydraulic fluid in the Green reservoir is correct. If necessary, fill the reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).

(1) Remove the access platform.
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

(1) Close the fan cowls:
