Installation of the Hydraulic Pressure Hose/Tube Assembly


WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS STAY HOT FOR SOME TIME AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.
CAUTION: DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 29-11-49-860-066-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
   (2) Make sure that the Green hydraulic reservoir is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
  • on the ground service panel 197CB.
   (4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position on the access door 195BB to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic reservoir.

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
  • make sure that WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
  • in the cockpit, on the HYD section of the overhead panel 40VU.
   (4) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
  • make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
   (5) Make sure that WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (6) Make sure that a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is below the suction-hose adapter connection to the hydraulic pump.

D. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the left fan cowl door is open:
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
make sure that the door 437AL is open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040).
   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position at the engine.
4. Procedure
Subtask 29-11-49-420-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Hydraulic Pressure Hose
CAUTION: YOU MUST TORQUE THE BOLTS IN THE SEQUENCE GIVEN. IF YOU DO NOT TORQUE THE BOLTS IN SEQUENCE, YOU CAN DAMAGE THE PRESSURE HOSE/ TUBE.
   (1) Remove the protective covers from the tee-fitting, the ends of the pressure hose/tube (20), the fluid disconnect panel and the union in the hydraulic pump.
   (2) Loosely connect the pressure hose/tube (20) to the fluid disconnect panel. Do not TORQUE the coupling nut at this time.
   (3) Loosely connect the pressure hose/tube (20) to the union on the hydraulic pump. Do not TORQUE the nut at this time.
   (4) Loosely connect the pressure switch tube to the tee-fitting on the pressure hose/tube (20). Do not TORQUE the coupling nut at this time.

   (5) Attach the pressure hose/tube (20) to the two channels with the clamps (15), bolts (5) and washers (10). Do not TORQUE the bolts at this time.

   (6) Attach the pressure hose/tube (20) to the top mid-channel, the bottom mid-channel and the bracket on the engine flange with:
- The clamps (9), (15) and (16)
- The bolts (5), (6), (7) and (12), and
- The washers (8), (10) and (14).
Do not TORQUE the bolts at this time.

   (7) Attach the pressure hose/tube (20) to the top mid-channel, the bottom mid-channel and the bracket on the engine flange with:
- The clamps (9), (16) and (26)
- The bolts (6), (7), (12) and (22), and
- The washers (8), (14) and (24).
Do not TORQUE the bolts at this time.
   (8) Attach the pressure hose/tube (20) to the bottom bracket with the clamp (15), bolt (5) and washer (10). Do not TORQUE the bolt at this time.

   (9) TORQUE the coupling nuts on the two ends of the pressure hose/tube (20)
to between 83.4 and 75 lbf.ft (11.31 and 10.17 m.daN ) T.
   (10) TORQUE the coupling nut on the pressure switch tube to between 20.4 and 17.9 lbf.ft (2.77 and 2.43 m.daN )
T.
   (11) TORQUE the bolts (12) on the engine flange bracket to between 0.39 and 0.34 m.daN (34.51 and 30.09 lbf.in )
T.
   (12) TORQUE the bolts (22) on the bottom mid-channel to between 0.39 and 0.34 m.daN (34.51 and 30.09 lbf.in )
T.
   (13) TORQUE the bolts (6) and (7) on the top mid-channel to between 0.39 and 0.34 m.daN (34.51 and 30.09 lbf.in )
T.
   (14) TORQUE the bolt (5) on the bottom bracket to between 0.39 and 0.34 m.daN (34.51 and 30.09 lbf.in )
T.
   (15) TORQUE the bolt (5) on the top bracket to between 0.39 and 0.34 m.daN (34.51 and 30.09 lbf.in )
T.
   (16) Install the center mount clamp (40) as follows:
     (a) Remove the bolt (25), washer (30) and nut (35) from the band on the pressure hose/tube (20) into its hole in the insert.
     (b) Put the band on the insert and install the bolt (25), washer (30) and nut (35).
     (c) Make sure that the center mount clamp (40) is installed at a distance of 12.30 in. (312.42 mm) below the flange of the pressure hose/tube.
     (d) Make sure that the center mount clamp (40) and the hoses have a minimum clearance of 0.40 in. (10.16 mm) from the CFMI hose.
     (e) TORQUE the nut (35) to between 90 and 75 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.85 m.daN )
T.
   (17) Make sure that the center mount clamp (40) and the hoses have a minimum clearance of 0.40 in. (10.16 mm) from the CFMI hose.
   (18) Make sure that there is not too much stress on the pipe hose.
   (19) Clean the fittings and make a color stripe.
   (20) Remove the container.

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Operational test
   (1) Do an operational test of the Green hydraulic system (
Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-00-710-001).
   (2) During the dry motoring of the engine 1, make sure that there are no leaks from the pressure hose/tube.
   (3) Make sure that the level of the hydraulic fluid in the Green reservoir is correct. If necessary, fill the reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-002).

D. Do the hydraulic maintenance procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-51-860-040).

   (1) Remove the access platform(s).
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

   (1) Close the left fan cowl door:
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
close the door 437AL (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-040).
   (2) Close the door 195BB.
