A. Installation of the Fan Zone Fire Detector
(2) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(3) Make sure that there is a good electrical bond between the sensors (45), the clamps (40), the rail assembly (20), and the engine bracket.
(4) Cleaning
(b) Dry the bonding surfaces with a clean cloth before the solvent evaporates.
(5) Put the clamps (40) on the sensors (45) and attach them with the bolts (15) and nuts (5).
(6) TORQUE the nuts (5) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )
.
(7) Do an electrical resistance check of the Loop A and Loop B fire detectors, as follows:
(a) Put one lead of the MILLIOHMMETER 0.01 OHM - LOW VOLTAGE on the fire detector sensors (45).
(b) Put the other lead of the ohmmeter on the engine bracket.
(c) The resistance measured between the ohmmeter leads must be 0.0025 ohm or less.
(d) If the resistance is more than 0.0025 ohm, remove the fasteners and clean the bonding surfaces again. Do this procedure until the resistance indication is in the correct range.
(8) Put the fire detector rail assembly (20) in position on the engine.
(9) Move the center mount clamps (25) in position on the mounting brackets (10) (8 locations). Turn the screw (30) to attach the clamp to the bracket.
(10) TORQUE the screw (30) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )
.
(11) Connect the electrical connector 4000WD1-A to the loop A fire detector sensor (45). Tighten the connector with your hand.
(12) Connect the electrical connector 4000WD2-A to the loop B fire detector sensor (45). Tighten the connector with your hand.
Subtask 26-12-15-865-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
INSTALL THE FIRE DETECTORS AND THE RAIL AS ONE ASSEMBLY. THE FIRE DETECTOR SENSOR ELEMENTS CAN BE DAMAGED IF NOT SUPPORTED BY THE RAIL.
(1) Remove the protective covers from the fire detector sensors and the electrical connectors. (2) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(3) Make sure that there is a good electrical bond between the sensors (45), the clamps (40), the rail assembly (20), and the engine bracket.
(4) Cleaning
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
