   (1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
   (2) Make sure that a STEPLADDER 1.0 M (3.3 FT) is in position and the applicable ceiling panel is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-42-000-002):
  • For aircraft with a one-panel ceiling 261BC.

B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

4. Procedure

A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) If the aircraft registration code/number (ICAO) is changed refer to (Ref. AMM TASK 25-65-00-840-001).

B. Installation of the NAIM 144MX
F NAIM 144MX ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the ARM/OFF/TX switch (8) is set to the OFF position.
   (4) Carefully connect the NAIM (6) to the ELT (7) and hold it in position on the support (1).
   (5) Install the bolts (4), the washers (3) and the nuts (2).
   (6) TORQUE the bolts (4) to between 0.45 and 0.35 m.daN (39.82 and 30.97 lbf.in ) T.
   (7) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
   (8) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (9) Connect electrical connector 144MX-A (5) to the NAIM (6).
   (10) Set the ARM/OFF/TX switch (8) to the ARM position.

C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

   (2) Install the applicable ceiling panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-42-400-002):
  • For aircraft with a one-panel ceiling 261BC.
   (3) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.

B. De-energize the ground service network
