   (1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
   (2) Make sure that the potable water system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).
   (3) On the water service panel, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the potable water system.

B. At the applicable galley, on the galley control panel, make sure that the circuit breaker(s) of the water boiler(s)/heater(s) is (are) open, safetied and tagged.

   (1) Make sure that the circuit breaker(s) of the water boiler/heater is(are) open, safetied and tagged.

   (1) Make sure that the ice drawer(s) is (are) removed.

   (2) If necessary, remove the ice drawer(s).

   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do a visual inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.

B. Installation of the Water Boiler/Heater

WARNING: SUPPORT THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY. THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY IS HEAVY. IF YOU DO NOT SUPPORT IT, IT WILL FALL. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS, AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE UNIT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
   (1) Prevent damage to the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
   (3) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (4) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
   (5) Put the water boiler/heater (4) in position.
   (6) Connect the electrical connector (3).
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED. A PRESSURIZED SYSTEM CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS WHEN THEY DO WORK ON IT.
   (7) Connect the water supply line (2).
   (8) Carefully push the water boiler/heater (4) into the galley.
   (9) Install the screws (1).
   (10) Tighten the screws (1).

B. Installation of the Water Boiler/Heater

   (1) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
   (2) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (4) Prevent damage to the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (5) Put the water boiler/heater (4) in position.
   (6) Connect the electrical connector (3).
   (7) Connect the water supply line:
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED. A PRESSURIZED SYSTEM CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS WHEN THEY DO WORK ON IT.
WARNING: DO NOT DO WORK ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
WARNING: ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
  • ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM, OR
  • ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM.
WHEN YOU COMPLETE THE WORK PROCEDURE, CLEAN YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION (WASTE WATER IS DANGEROUS FOR HEALTH).
     (a) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
     (b) Connect the water supply line (1).
   (8) Carefully push the water boiler/heater (4) into the galley.
   (9) Install and tighten the screws (2).

   (4) Install the water heater in the galley:

WARNING: DO NOT DO WORK ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
WARNING: ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
  • ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM, OR
  • ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM.
WHEN YOU COMPLETE THE WORK PROCEDURE, CLEAN YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION (WASTE WATER IS DANGEROUS FOR HEALTH).
     (a) Make sure that the lever (2) is in the unlocked position.
     (b) Carefully put the water heater (3) on the rails (4).
     (c) Push the water heater (3) and connect the electrical connector, the potable water supply line and the drain line.
     (d) Set the lever (2) to the locked position.
     (e) Install the screw (1).
     (f) Tighten the screw (1).
     (g) Make sure that the water heater (3) is correctly locked on the rails (4).

   (1) Prevent damage to the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
   (3) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
   (4) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (5) Put the water boiler/heater (5) in position on the galley.
   (6) Connect the electrical connector (4) and the water supply line (1) as follows:
     (a) Connect the electrical connector (4).
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED. A PRESSURIZED SYSTEM CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS WHEN THEY DO WORK ON IT.
     (b) Connect the water supply line (1).
   (7) Carefully push the water boiler/heater (5) into the galley.
   (8) Apply Threadlocking Adhesive-- Medium strength - (Material No.05BAE1) to the threads of the screws (3).
   (9) Install the washers (2) and the screws (3).
   (10) TORQUE the screws (3) to between 0.20 and 0.18 m.daN (17.70 and 15.93 lbf.in ) T.

B. Installation of the Water Heater

WARNING: SUPPORT THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY. THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY IS HEAVY. IF YOU DO NOT SUPPORT IT, IT WILL FALL. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS, AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
   (2) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
   (3) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (5) Install the water heater in the forward galley:
     (a) Make sure that the lever (2) is in the unlocked position.
     (b) Put the water heater (4) on the mounting rails (1).
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED. A PRESSURIZED SYSTEM CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS WHEN THEY DO WORK ON IT.
WARNING: DO NOT DO WORK ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
WARNING: ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
  • ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM, OR
  • ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM.
WHEN YOU COMPLETE THE WORK PROCEDURE, CLEAN YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION (WASTE WATER IS DANGEROUS FOR HEALTH).
     (c) Carefully push the water heater (4) to connect the electrical connector, the water supply line and the drain line.
     (d) Set the lever (2) to the locked position.
     (e) Install the screw (3).
     (f) Tighten the screw (3).
   (6) Install the water heater in the aft galley:
     (a) When you connect/install the components, refer to the match marks made during the removal procedure.
     (b) Put the water heater (9) in position.
     (c) Connect the electrical connector (8).
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED. A PRESSURIZED SYSTEM CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS WHEN THEY DO WORK ON IT.
WARNING: DO NOT DO WORK ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
WARNING: ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
  • ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM, OR
  • ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM.
WHEN YOU COMPLETE THE WORK PROCEDURE, CLEAN YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION (WASTE WATER IS DANGEROUS FOR HEALTH).
     (d) Connect the water supply line (5).
     (e) Carefully push the water heater (9) into the galley.
     (f) Put the washers (6) in position and install the screws (7).
     (g) TORQUE the screws (7) to between 0.20 and 0.16 m.daN (17.70 and 14.16 lbf.in ) T.

B. Installation of the Water Heater

WARNING: SUPPORT THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY. THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY IS HEAVY. IF YOU DO NOT SUPPORT IT, IT WILL FALL. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS, AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Install the water heater (5) in the forward galley and aft galley G3B as follows:
     (a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
     (b) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
     (c) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
     (d) Hold the water heater (5) in position.
     (e) Connect the water supply line (1) as follows:
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED. A PRESSURIZED SYSTEM CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS WHEN THEY DO WORK ON IT.
WARNING: DO NOT DO WORK ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
WARNING: ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
  • ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM, OR
  • ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM.
WHEN YOU COMPLETE THE WORK PROCEDURE, CLEAN YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION (WASTE WATER IS DANGEROUS FOR HEALTH).
       1 Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
       2 Connect the water supply line (1).
     (f) Connect the electrical connector (4).
     (g) Carefully push the water heater (5) into the galley.
     (h) Apply Threadlocking Adhesive-- Medium strength - (Material No.05BAE1) to the heads of the screws (3).
     (i) Install the washers (2) and the screws (3).
     (j) TORQUE the screws (3) to between 0.20 and 0.16 m.daN (17.70 and 14.16 lbf.in ) T.
     (k) Clean the heads of the screws (3) and/or the adjacent area.
     (l) Apply Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.
06CMD9) to the heads of the screws (3).
   (2) Install the water heater (6) in aft galley G4B as follows:
     (a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
     (b) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
     (c) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
     (d) Apply Threadlocking Adhesive-- Medium strength - (Material No.05BAE1) to the heads of the screws (7) and (8).
     (e) Put the bracket (11) in position and install the screws (8) and (7).
     (f) TORQUE the screws (8) to between 0.22 and 0.18 m.daN (19.47 and 15.93 lbf.in ) T.
     (g) TORQUE the screws (7) to between 0.53 and 0.43 m.daN (46.90 and 38.05 lbf.in )
T.
     (h) Clean the bracket (11), heads of the screws (7) and (8) and/or adjacent area.
     (i) Apply Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.
06CMD9) to the heads of the screws (7) and (8) and the bracket (11).
     (j) Hold the water heater (6) in position.
     (k) Connect the water supply line (1) as follows:
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED. A PRESSURIZED SYSTEM CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS WHEN THEY DO WORK ON IT.
WARNING: DO NOT DO WORK ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
WARNING: ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
  • ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM, OR
  • ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM.
WHEN YOU COMPLETE THE WORK PROCEDURE, CLEAN YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION (WASTE WATER IS DANGEROUS FOR HEALTH).
       1 Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
       2 Connect the water supply line (1).
     (l) Connect the electrical connector (4).
     (m) Carefully push the water heater (6) into the galley.
     (n) Apply Threadlocking Adhesive-- Medium strength - (Material No.05BAE1) to the heads of the screws (9).
     (o) Install the screws (9).
     (p) TORQUE the screws (9) to between 0.19 and 0.17 m.daN (16.81 and 15.04 lbf.in ) T.
     (q) Clean the bracket (11), heads of the screws (9) and/or adjacent area.
     (r) Apply Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.
06CMD9) to the heads of the screws (9), bracket (11) and adjacent area.
     (s) Apply Double Sided Adhesive Tape-- Foam Base - (Material No.05PAC1) to the decorative strip (10) and install it.

   (1) Install the water heater in the forward galley:
     (a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
     (b) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
     (c) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
     (d) Put the water heater (5) in position.
     (e) Connect the water supply line:
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED. A PRESSURIZED SYSTEM CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS WHEN THEY DO WORK ON IT.

WARNING: ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
  • ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM, OR
  • ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM.
WHEN YOU COMPLETE THE WORK PROCEDURE, CLEAN YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION (WASTE WATER IS DANGEROUS FOR HEALTH).
       1 Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
       2 Connect the water supply line (1).
     (f) Apply Threadlocking Adhesive-- Low strength - (Material No.05BAA1) on the electrical connector (4).
     (g) Connect the electrical connector (4).
     (h) Carefully push the water heater (5) into the galley.
     (i) Put the washers (2) in position and install the screws (3).
     (j) TORQUE the screws (3) to between 0.20 and 0.16 m.daN (17.70 and 14.16 lbf.in ) T.
     (k) Clean the heads of the screws (3) and/or the adjacent area.
     (l) Apply Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.
06CMD9) on the heads of the screws (3).
   (2) Install the water heater in the aft galely:
     (a) When you connect/install the components, refer to the match marks made during the removal procedure.
     (b) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
     (c) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
     (d) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
     (e) Put the water heater (5) in position.
     (f) Connect the water supply line:

     (l) Put the metal plates (7) and (8) and the cover (9) in position and install the screws (6) and (10).
     (m) TORQUE the screws (6) and (10) to between 0.12 and 0.10 m.daN (10.62 and 8.85 lbf.in )

Install the water boilers/heaters (5) and (6) in the galley as follows:
     (a) Put the water boilers/heaters (5) and (6) in position on the galley.
     (b) Connect the electrical connectors (4) and the water supply lines (1) as follows:

Install the water boiler/heater (5) in the galley as follows:
     (a) Put the water boiler/heater (5) in position on the galley.
     (b) Apply Threadlocking Adhesive-- Medium strength - (Material No.05BAE1) to the threads of the screws (7).
     (c) Put the bracket (10) in position and install the screws (7).
     (d) TORQUE the screws (7) to between 0.20 and 0.18 m.daN (17.70 and 15.93 lbf.in ) T.
     (e) Connect the electrical connector (4) and the water supply line (1) as follows:
       1 Connect the electrical connector (4).
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED. A PRESSURIZED SYSTEM CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS WHEN THEY DO WORK ON IT.
       2 Connect the water supply line (1).

     (i) TORQUE the screws (8) to between 0.17 and 0.14 m.daN (15.04 and 12.39 lbf.in ) T.
     (j) Apply Double Sided Adhesive Tape-- Foam Base - (Material No.
05PAC1) to the screen (9) and install it.
     (k) Clean the screen (9) and the adjacent area.
     (l) Apply Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) to the screen (9).
