A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

B. Get Access
(1) Remove the emergency light (Ref. AMM TASK 33-51-11-000-001).
(2) Remove all items of equipment from the center ceiling stowage-compartment (4).

(2) Remove all items of equipment from the center ceiling stowage-compartment (4).

A. Removal of the Center Ceiling Stowage-Compartment
(2) Open the bins of the adjacent overhead stowage compartments (OHSC).
(3) Push the fasteners (13) with a SCRAPER - WOODEN and open the access doors (12) in the OHSCs.
(4) Disconnect the electrical connectors (14).
(5) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(6) Push the ceiling panels (16) up to release the pins (17). Pull the ceiling panels (16) down to release the ceiling panels (16) from the latches (15) and remove the ceiling panels (16).
(7) Remove the adjacent ceiling panels (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-41-000-001).
(8) Open the center-ceiling stowage-compartment door (3) as follows:
(c) Remove the washers (22) and disengage the dampers (23) from the center-ceiling stowage-compartment door (3).
(d) Open the center-ceiling stowage-compartment door (3) accurately at the 70-degree position.
(9) Remove the screws (2) and the covers (1).
(10) Disconnect the electrical connectors (5).
(11) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(12) Close the center-ceiling stowage-compartment door (3) as follows:
(a) Put the dampers (19) in position and install the quick-release pins (18).
(b) Engage the dampers (23) to the bolts (20) on the center-ceiling stowage-compartment door (3).
(d) Close the center-ceiling stowage-compartment door (3).
(13) Hold the center ceiling stowage-compartment (4) and remove the clips (11) to release tie rods (10).
(14) Remove the quick-release pins (8) to release the tie rods (9).
(15) Remove the quick-release pins (6) to release the tie rods (7).
(16) Carefully remove the center ceiling stowage-compartment (4).
WARNING:
YOU MUST MAKE SURE THAT YOU CAN HOLD THE COMPONENT BEFORE YOU REMOVE/INSTALL IT. THE COMPONENT IS HEAVY. IF IT FALLS, IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Make match marks on the components that you disconnect/remove to record their connections/positions. This is important for the subsequent installation procedure.(2) Open the bins of the adjacent overhead stowage compartments (OHSC).
(3) Push the fasteners (13) with a SCRAPER - WOODEN and open the access doors (12) in the OHSCs.
(4) Disconnect the electrical connectors (14).
(5) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(6) Push the ceiling panels (16) up to release the pins (17). Pull the ceiling panels (16) down to release the ceiling panels (16) from the latches (15) and remove the ceiling panels (16).
(7) Remove the adjacent ceiling panels (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-41-000-001).
(8) Open the center-ceiling stowage-compartment door (3) as follows:
NOTE: The center-ceiling stowage-compartment door (3) locks at the 40-degree position.
(a) Fully open the center-ceiling stowage-compartment door (3). WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
(b) Remove and discard the cotter pins (21) from the bolts (20). (c) Remove the washers (22) and disengage the dampers (23) from the center-ceiling stowage-compartment door (3).
(d) Open the center-ceiling stowage-compartment door (3) accurately at the 70-degree position.
NOTE: The override ceiling stowage flap must not be more than 70-degree.
(e) Release the quick-release pins (18) from the dampers (19). (9) Remove the screws (2) and the covers (1).
(10) Disconnect the electrical connectors (5).
(11) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(12) Close the center-ceiling stowage-compartment door (3) as follows:
(a) Put the dampers (19) in position and install the quick-release pins (18).
(b) Engage the dampers (23) to the bolts (20) on the center-ceiling stowage-compartment door (3).
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
(c) Install the washers (22) on the bolts (20) and safety the bolts (20) with the new AIPC 25-24-89-95-050 COTTER PINS (21). (d) Close the center-ceiling stowage-compartment door (3).
(13) Hold the center ceiling stowage-compartment (4) and remove the clips (11) to release tie rods (10).
(14) Remove the quick-release pins (8) to release the tie rods (9).
(15) Remove the quick-release pins (6) to release the tie rods (7).
(16) Carefully remove the center ceiling stowage-compartment (4).
