3. Job Set-up
Subtask 25-24-00-861-050-A
A. Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 25-24-00-820-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Adjust the Doors
   (1) Alignment of the door with the adjacent doors:
     (a) Open the applicable door.
     (b) Loosen the screws (4).
     (c) Move the door to align it with the adjacent doors.
     (d) Tighten the screws (4).
     (e) Close the door.
     (f) Make sure that the door is aligned with the adjacent doors.
   (2) Adjustment of the gap between the doors:
     (a) Open the door.
     (b) Loosen the screws (3).
     (c) Move the door forward or aft, as necessary.
     (d) Tighten the screws (3).
     (e) Close the door.
     (f) Make sure that the distance between the doors is 10 +2 mm or -2 mm (0.3937 +0.0787 in. or -0.0787 in.).
   (3) Adjustment of the door keeper:
     (a) Open the door.
     (b) Loosen the screws (5).
     (c) Move the door keeper (6), as necessary.
     (d) Tighten the screws (5).
     (e) Close the door.
     (f) Make sure that the door locks correctly and the two hooks fully engage. If the hooks are not fully engaged, move the keeper to inboard (A/C aisle) position (steps (a), (b), (c)) and proceed with step (d).
   (4) Adjustment of the door opening angle:
     (a) Open the door.
     (b) Loosen the bolts (1).
     (c) Move the support (2) until the bottom lip of the door is 1962 +10 -0 mm (77.24 +0.40 -0.00 in.) above the floor.
NOTE: The bottom lip of a door at FR20/21 and FR65/66 must be 1933 +10 -0 mm (76.10 +0.40 -0.00 in.) above the floor.
     (d) Tighten the bolts (1).
     (e) Make sure that the door locks correctly.
Subtask 25-24-00-820-051-E ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Adjust the Doors
   (1) Alignment of the door with the adjacent doors:
     (a) Open the applicable door.
     (b) Loosen the screws (3).
     (c) Move the door to align it with the adjacent doors.
     (d) Tighten the screws (3).
     (e) Close the door.
     (f) Make sure that the door is aligned with the adjacent doors.
   (2) Adjustment of the gap between the doors:
     (a) Open the applicable door.
     (b) Loosen the screws (2).
     (c) Move the door forward or aft, as necessary.
     (d) Tighten the screws (2).
     (e) Close the door.
     (f) Make sure that the distance between the doors is 10 +2 mm or -2 mm (0.3937 +0.0787 in. or -0.0787 in.).
   (3) Adjustment of the door opening angle:
     (a) Open the applicable door.
     (b) Turn the screw (1) until the bottom lip of the door is 1961 +0 mm or -10 mm (77.2048 +0.0000 in. or -0.3937 in.) above the floor.
NOTE: The bottom lip of the door at FR20/21 and FR65/66 must be 1858 +0 mm or -10 mm (73.1496 +0.0000 in. or -0.3937 in.) above the floor.
     (c) Close the door.
     (d) Make sure that the door locks correctly.
Subtask 25-24-00-820-051-F ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Adjustment of the Doors
   (1) Align the door with the adjacent doors:
     (a) Open the applicable door.
     (b) Loosen the screws (3).
     (c) Move the door to align it with the adjacent doors.
     (d) Tighten the screws (3).
     (e) Close the door.
     (f) Make sure that the door is aligned with the adjacent doors.
   (2) Adjust the gap between the doors:
     (a) Open the applicable door.
     (b) Loosen the screws (2).
     (c) Move the door forward or aft, as necessary.
     (d) Tighten the screws (2).
     (e) Close the door.
     (f) Make sure that the distance between the doors is 10 +2 mm or -2 mm (0.3937 +0.0787 in. or -0.0787 in.).
   (3) Adjust the door keeper:
     (a) Open the applicable door.
     (b) Loosen the screws (5).
     (c) Move the door keeper (4), as necessary.
     (d) Tighten the screws (5).
     (e) Close the door.
     (f) Make sure that:
  • The door locks correctly.
  • The two hooks are fully engaged.
  • The distance between the door edge and the hatrack side panel is not larger than 7 mm (0.2756 in.).
     (g) If the door is not correctly adjusted, do steps (a) thru (f) again.
   (4) Adjust the door opening angle:
     (a) Open the applicable door.
     (b) Turn the screw (1) until the bottom lip of the door is 1961 +0 mm or -10 mm (77.2048 +0.0000 in. or -0.3937 in.) above the floor.
NOTE: The bottom lip of the door at FR20/21 and FR65/66 must be 1858 +0 mm or -10 mm (73.1496 +0.0000 in. or -0.3937 in.) above the floor.
     (c) Close the door.
     (d) Make sure that the door locks correctly.
   (5) Adjust the door hinge:
NOTE: The hinge adjustment is necessary if the latch hook (6) is at the height of the keeper (4) or above (refer to the reference line in section D-D).
     (a) Open the applicable door.
     (b) Loosen the screws (3) and remove the screws (9) and the washers (8).
     (c) Put the shim plate(s) (7) in position.
NOTE: The maximum permitted number of shim plates is two.
     (d) Put the washers (8) in position and install the screws (9) and (3).
     (e) TORQUE the screws (9) and (3) to between 0.275 and 0.225 m.daN (24.34 and 19.91 lbf.in ) T.
     (f) Close the door.
     (g) Make sure that the door locks correctly.
Subtask 25-24-00-820-051-G ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Adjustment of the OHSC Doors
   (1) Adjust the OHSC doors:
F Adjustment of the OHSC Doors ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
     (a) Open the applicable OHSC door.
     (b) Loosen the screws (3).
     (c) Move the hinge together with the OHSC door to align it with the adjacent OHSC doors.
     (d) Tighten the screws (3).
     (e) Loosen the screws (2).
     (f) Move the OHSC door forward or aft as necessary.
     (g) Make sure that dimension "B" between the hinge arms is in the limit given in the table.
     (h) Tighten the screws (2).
     (i) Turn the adjustment screw (1) until you get the correct distance "A". Make sure that distance "A" is 2153 +0 mm or -10 mm (84.7638 +0.0000 in. or -0.3937 in.) between the lower door edge and the floor level in open door condition.
     (j) Make sure that the OHSC door is aligned with the adjacent OHSC doors.
     (k) Make sure that the distance between the OHSC doors is 10 +2 mm or -2 mm (0.3937 +0.0787 in. or -0.0787 in.).
     (l) TORQUE the screws (2) and (3) to between 2.8 and 2.2 m.N (24.78 and 19.47 lbf.in ) T.
     (m) Close the OHSC door.
     (n) Make sure that the OHSC door locks correctly and both latch hooks are latched.
   (2) Adjust the hinge assemblies:
WARNING: SUPPORT THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY. THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY IS HEAVY. IF YOU DO NOT SUPPORT IT, IT WILL FALL. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS, AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WITH THE HINGE WHEN YOU REMOVE/INSTALL THE LUG FROM/ON THE AXIS. THE HINGE SYSTEM IS SPRING-PRELOADED AND CAN CAUSE INJURY TO YOU.
     (a) Remove the applicable OHSC door (Ref. AMM TASK 25-24-41-000-002).
     (b) Remove the hinge assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 25-24-41-000-804).
     (c) Disassemble the hinge assembly:
       1 Remove the securing ring (3) and the bushing (2).
       2 Use the PLIERS - RIGHT ANGLE SOFT-JAWED to remove the lug (4) from the hinge axis (1).
     (d) Adjust the hinge assembly:
       1 Adjust the distance "A" between the lug (4) and the spring.
       2 Make sure that distance "A" is in the limit given in the table.
     (e) Assemble the hinge assembly:
       1 Use the PLIERS - RIGHT ANGLE SOFT-JAWED to install the lug (4) on the hinge axis (1).
       2 Install the bushing (2) and the securing rings (3).
     (f) Install the hinge assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 25-24-41-400-804).
     (g) Install the applicable OHSC door (Ref. AMM TASK 25-24-41-400-002).
   (3) Make sure that the OHSC doors are open to a position of 30 degree in 0.6 (+/-0.3) seconds and open until the endstop in less than 2 seconds.
Subtask 25-24-00-820-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Adjust the Opening Time of the OHSC Doors
   (1) Open the applicable door (1).
   (2) Turn the hinge adjustment screw (2) with a ALLEN KEY 5/32 IN until the opening time of the OHSC doors is between 0.4 and 1.5 sec.
NOTE: For the hinge adjustment screw (2):
  • Use standard handforce.
  • One 360[ turn of the screw (2) change the hinge torque 0,05Nm.
  • Use not more than five turns clockwise or counterclockwise.
  • The movement is limited by the endstops.
  • Turn clockwise increase the speed/force.
  • Turn counterclockwise decrease the speed/force.
NOTE: Both hinges must be adjusted in the same direction and with the same turns.
   (3) Close the door (1).
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
   (2) Close the overhead stowage-compartment door.

B. De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
