1. Reason for the Job
NOTE: This procedure is only applicable for the Captain and First Officer seats. (P/N TAAI3-03 series only).
NOTE: This procedure gives the repair instructions to apply protection to prevent corrosion damage on the seat pan.

   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

   (1) Remove the Captain (First Officer) seat cushions (Ref. AMM TASK 25-11-61-000-001).
4. Procedure

A. Application of Structural Paint Protection to Prevent Corrosion Damage on the Seat Pan
NOTE: We recommend that you send the report of the corrosion removal to STELIA AEROSPACE for the Airworthiness Justification and Approval.
   (1) Do a visual inspection of the screw heads on the seat pan at the applicable locations:
     (a) If there is no corrosion damage, apply Coating-- Corrosion Inhibiting Fastener Head Protection (Material No.04QAC5) on the screw heads of the seat pan at the applicable locations.
     (b) If you find corrosion damage:
       1 Remove the applicable screws and examine the screw threads and the screw holes in the seat pan.
         a If you find corrosion damage on them:
  • Replace the seat pan and the screws, refer to the applicable CMM.
  • Apply Coating-- Corrosion Inhibiting Fastener Head Protection (Material No.04QAC5) on the screw heads at the applicable locations.
         b If you do not find corrosion damage on them:
  • Remove and discard the screws with corrosion and install new screws, refer to the applicable CMM.
  • Apply Coating-- Corrosion Inhibiting Fastener Head Protection (Material No.04QAC5) on new screw heads at the applicable locations.
   (2) Do a visual inspection of the threaded inserts on the seat pan at the applicable location:
     (a) If there is no corrosion damage, apply Coating-- Corrosion Inhibiting Fastener Head Protection (Material No.04QAC5) on the threaded inserts of the seat pan at the applicable locations.
     (b) If you find corrosion damage on them:
       1 Replace the seat pan, refer to the applicable CMM.
       2 Apply Coating-- Corrosion Inhibiting Fastener Head Protection (Material No.04QAC5) on the threaded inserts at the applicable locations.
   (3) Do a visual inspection of the seat pan:
     (a) If there is corrosion damage, send detailed images of the seat pan with corrosion to STELIA AEROSPACE with the applicable dimensions.
       1 If the corrosion removal procedure is permitted, then refer to the applicable CMM for the repair procedure.
       2 If the corrosion removal procedure is not permitted:
         a Replace the seat pan, refer to the applicable CMM for the replacement procedure.
     (b) If there is no corrosion damage, do a check for other damage:
       1 If you find other damage, refer to the applicable CMM for the repair procedure.
       2 If you do not find other damage, no more steps are necessary.

   (1) Install the Captain (First Officer) seat cushions (Ref. AMM TASK 25-11-61-400-001).
