C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Ground Maintenance
Subtask 24-21-41-010-076-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the thrust-reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802) are open:

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the thrust-reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802) are open:

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.

A. Visual Check of the Mating Surfaces
(1) Remove the protective cover from the accessory-gearbox mounting pad (1).
(2) Do a visual check of the QAD adapter (2) for damage from incorrect shipping or handling.
(3) Do a visual check of the mating surfaces of the QAD adapter (2) and the accessory-gearbox mounting pad (1). Make sure that they are smooth and clean.
Subtask 24-21-41-640-064-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the protective cover from the accessory-gearbox mounting pad (1).

B. Lubrication of the QAD Adapter Tension-Bolt
Subtask 24-21-41-420-078-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
LUBRICATE THE QAD ADAPTER TENSION-BOLT BEFORE YOU INSTALL THE ADAPTER ON THE GEARBOX MOUNTING PAD. NO LUBRICANT ON THE TENSION BOLT CAN CAUSE INCREASED WEAR TO THE TENSION BOLT AND THE BRACKET.
(1) Apply Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine - - (Material No.03ABA1) to the QAD adapter tension-bolt. C. Installation of the QAD Adapter
(a) Use a clean COTTON SWAB and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) to remove the lubricant from the screw holes and index pin holes.
(b) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) to clean the gearbox mounting surface and the QAD adapter. Wipe them dry before the cleaning fluid evaporates.
(2) Install the AIPC 24-21-41-50-030 GASKET (6) on the QAD adapter (2). Make sure that the index pin hole of the QAD adapter (2) is aligned with the index pin hole of the QAD gasket.
(a) Make sure that the stripe on the QAD ring is aligned with the stripe on the adapter plate.
(3) Install the QAD adapter (2) on the accessory-gearbox mounting pad (1) with the flat head screws (3).
(4) Make sure that the words "TOP PW CFM56" on the QAD adapter are in the top position (12 o'clock).
(5) Use a BRUSH - BRISTLED, FIBER, MEDIUM to apply a thin layer of Lubricant-Anti Seize Nickel & Graphite - (Material No.03PBD1) to the conical surface of the heads of the screws (3) and to the threads of the screws (3).
(6) TORQUE the screws (3) to between 32 and 29 lbf.ft (4.34 and 3.93 m.daN )

Subtask 24-21-41-420-079-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL 5. Close-upCAUTION:
DO NOT LET THE LUBRICANT STAY IN THE DOWEL PIN HOLES AND SCREW HOLES OF THE QAD ADAPTER. LUBRICANT BUILDUP CAN CAUSE THE PRESSURE TO INCREASE. INCREASED PRESSURE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE GEARBOX WHEN YOU INSTALL AND TORQUE THE SCREWS.
(1) Clean the gearbox mounting surface, index pin hole and screw holes. (a) Use a clean COTTON SWAB and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) to remove the lubricant from the screw holes and index pin holes.
(b) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) to clean the gearbox mounting surface and the QAD adapter. Wipe them dry before the cleaning fluid evaporates.
