Subtask 23-73-00-860-222-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Make sure that the Cabin Intercommunication Data System (CIDS) is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 23-73-00-861-001).
   (3) Push the TDF key on the FAP to open "Test and Diagnostic Function" main page.
NOTE: If the following states are active, tests cannot be started and running tests are aborted:
- CIDS Smoke Alert,
- Evacuation Active,
- Passenger Address Active,
- Interphone Active.

A. Check component information

1.On the "MODE" menu:
  • Push the "Overview" key.
On the FAP:
  • The "SYSTEM COMPONENTS" window comes on.
2.On the "SYSTEM COMPONENTS" window:
  • Push the up and down arrows to select a component.
  • Push the "Show Details" key.
  • Make sure that status of the selected component is correct.
On the "COMPONENT INFORMATION" window:
  • The status of the selected component comes on.

  • Repeat step 2 for all components.

B. Check network and component status

1.On the "MODE" menu:
  • Push the "Network" key.
On the "TEST AND DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION" page:
  • The "COMPONENT SELECTION" window comes on.
2.On the "COMPONENT SELECTION" window:
  • Push the up and down arrows and "Open/Close" key to select a component.
  • Push the "Show Details" key.
  • Make sure that status of the selected component is correct.
NOTE: If a data bus and device is highlighted in amber, then a failure is detected there. If the page displays faults, the ”Faults Only” button will be enabled. If the ”Faults Only” button is pressed only components with a fault will be shown. A disabled button (greyed out) is an indicator of a fault-free system.
On the "NETWORK COMPONENT STATUS" window:
  • The status of the selected component comes on.

  • Repeat step 2 for all components.

C. Check input signal status

1.On the "MODE" menu:
  • Push the "Status Monit." key.
On the "TEST AND DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION" page:
  • The "STATUS MONITORING" window comes on.
2.On the "STATUS MONITORING" window:
  • Select a signal type on the right side of the window.
  • Make sure that all signal statuses are correct.
NOTE: Signals that have changed their condition are highlighted for 5 seconds in this overview.
On the "STATUS MONITORING" window:
  • The status of the selected signal type comes on.

  • Repeat step 2 for all type of signals.
NOTE: If "All" key was selected on the right side of the "STATUS MONITORING" window and all statuses were checked, there is no need to repeat step 6 for every individual signal group.

D. All light unit test

1.On the "MODE" menu:
  • Push the "Tests" key.
On the "TEST AND DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION" page:
  • The "TEST SELECTION" window comes on.
2.On the "TEST SELECTION" window:
  • Select the "All Light Unit Test".
  • Push the "Show Details" key.
On the "TEST DETAILS" window:
  • The details of the selected test comes on.
3.On the "TEST DETAILS" window:
  • Adjust the brightness value if required.
  • Push the "Start Test" key.
On the "TEST AND DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION" page:
  • A confirmation window comes on.

4.On the confirmation window:
  • Push the "OK" key to start the test.
In the cabin:
  • All lights in the cabin (illumination unit, reading light, ACPs, signs, PAX call lights, LED of AAPs, hard keys on FAP) comes on.

5.On the "TEST DETAILS" window:
  • Push the "Stop Test" key.
On the "MESSAGES" window:
  • The test is stopped.

E. Permutation test

  • Select the "Permutation Test".
  • Push the "Show Details" key.
On the "TEST DETAILS" window:
  • The details of the selected test comes on.
3.On the "TEST DETAILS" window:
  • Select the light type.
  • Push the "Start Test" key.
On the "TEST AND DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION" page:
  • A confirmation window comes on.

4.On the confirmation window:
  • Push the "OK" key to start the test.
In the cabin:
  • The selected lights in the cabin work constantly. If the wiring is incorrect the lights will not work constantly.

5.On the "TEST DETAILS" window:
  • Push the "Stop Test" key.
On the "MESSAGES" window:
  • The test is stopped.

  • Repeat steps 3 thru 5 for all type of lights.

F. All loudspeaker test

1.On the "MODE" menu:
  • Push the "Tests" key.

  • Select the "All Loudspeaker Test".

  • Push the "Stop Test" key.
On the "MESSAGES" window:
  • The test is stopped.

I. Logging and BITE Data transfer
NOTE: This function transfers the BITE and logging data to the CAM card. The function can only be used on ground. The data provided is for engineering only and should be used after consultation with customer support. The files are stored in a compressed and encrypted form. The function works only if a "TDF" folder has been created manually on the CAM card.

  • Push the "BITE Data" or "Log Data" key.
On the "TEST AND DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION" page:
  • A confirmation window comes on.

2.On the "TEST AND DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION" confirmation window:
  • Push the "Start Xfer" key.
On the "TEST AND DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION" page:
  • The data is downloaded to the CAM card.
  • A confirmation window of a successful transfer comes on.
3.On a successful transfer confirmation window:
  • Push the "OK" key.
