A. Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

B. Installation of the PDL
(1) On the overhead panel, on DATA LOADING panel 52VU:
(a) Loosen the two middle quick-release fasteners of the access cover and remove it.
(b) Connect the cable to the ALT45200001 PORTABLE DATA LOADER or the LOADER - DATA, PORTABLE and to the DATA LOADER connector (2TD).

B. Installation of the PDL
(1) On the center pedestal, on DATA LOADING panel 117VU:
(a) Loosen the two middle quick-release fasteners of the access cover and remove it.
(b) Connect the cable to the ALT45200001 PORTABLE DATA LOADER or the LOADER - DATA, PORTABLE and to the DATA LOADER connector (2147VC).

B. Installation of the PDL
(1) On the ALT45200001 PORTABLE DATA LOADER, make sure that the ON/OFF control switch is in the OFF position.
(2) On the center pedestal, on DATA LOADING panel 117VU:

Connect the cable to the ALT45200001 PORTABLE DATA LOADER and to the data loader connector on the front face of the Data Loading Selector Unit (DLSU) (103TD).

A. Downloading of the FM BITE Data (with the PDL and with ARINC 615)

NOTE: You cannot use the same floppy disk for the downloading of the two Flight Management and Guidance Computers (FMGC).

ACTION	RESULT
1.Open circuit breakers 10CA1 and 10CA2.
2.On the overhead panel, on the Data Loading Selector (DLS): Set the ON/OFF control switch to ON.	On the DLS: The "DB/N: PUSH NEXT/PREV" indication comes into view.
3.On the overhead panel, on the DLS: Push the PREV or NEXT key until you get the indication of FMGC1 that you want to download.	On the DLS: The "FMGC1 NOT SELECTED" indication comes into view.
Push the SEL CTL key.	The "FMGC1 SELECTED" indication comes into view.
4.Close circuit breaker 10CA1.	The power-up test of FMGC1 starts. At the end of this test, you can hear the three click aural-warning.
5.Put the PS4087689-102 FM BITE DOWNLOAD TOOL or the PS62004696-101 EXTENDED BITE DUMB - FMS into the disk drive or select the "FM BITE DOWNLOAD TOOL" option from the PDL menu (refer to the PDL user guide).
6.Open circuit breaker 10CA1.
7.On the DLS: Push the SEL CTL key.	On the DLS: The "FMGC1 NOT SELECTED" indication comes into view.
Push the PREV or NEXT key until you get the indication of FMGC2 that you want to download.	The "FMGC2 NOT SELECTED" indication comes into view.
Push the SEL CTL key.	The "FMGC2 SELECTED" indication comes into view.
8.Close circuit breaker 10CA2.	The power-up test of FMGC2 starts. At the end of this test, you can hear the three click aural-warning.
9.Put the PS4087689-102 FM BITE DOWNLOAD TOOL or the PS62004696-101 EXTENDED BITE DUMB - FMS into the disk drive or select the "FM BITE DOWNLOAD TOOL" option from the PDL menu (refer to the PDL user guide).
10.On the DLS: Set the ON/OFF control switch to OFF.
11.Open circuit breaker 10CA2 (wait for more than five seconds).
12.Close circuit breakers 10CA1 and 10CA2.

Push the SEL CTL key.	The "FMGC2 SELECTED" indication comes into view.
8.Close circuit breaker 10CA2.	The power-up test of FMGC2 starts. At the end of this test, you can hear the three click aural-warning.
9.Put the F1420061 FM BITE DOWNLOAD TOOL into the disk drive or select the "FM BITE DOWNLOAD TOOL" option from the PDL menu (refer to the PDL user guide).
10.On the DLS: Set the ON/OFF control switch to OFF.
11.Open circuit breaker 10CA2 (wait for more than five seconds).
12.Close circuit breakers 10CA1 and 10CA2.

A. Downloading of the FM BITE Data (with the PDL and with ARINC 615)

NOTE: You cannot use the same floppy disk for the downloading of the two Flight Management and Guidance Computers (FMGC).

ACTION	RESULT
1.Open circuit breakers 10CA1 and 10CA2.
2.On the center pedestal, on the DLSU: Set the ON/OFF control switch to ON.	On the DLSU: The "DB/N:XXXXXXXXXX PUSH NEXT" indication comes into view. NOTE: The "XXXXXXXXXX" indication is the Part Number (P/N) of the database software installed in the DLSU. Default value:'----------'.
3.On the center pedestal, on the DLSU: Push the NEXT key.	The DLSU does self-tests.
4.Make sure that no error message comes into view.	On the DLSU: The "STANDBY PUSH PREV/NEXT" indication comes into view.
5.On the center pedestal, on the DLSU: Push the PREV or NEXT key until you get the "FMGC1(1CA1)" or "FMGC1_615A(1CA1)" indication. NOTE: For FMGC1, you can download the FM data at low speed when you select the ”FMGC1(1CA1)” indication and at high speed when you select the ”FMGC1_615A(1CA1)” indication.	On the DLSU: The "FMGC1(1CA1) NOT SELECTED", or "FMGC1_615A(1CA1) NOT SELECTED" indication comes into view.
6.On the center pedestal, on the DLSU: Push the SEL key.	On the DLSU: The "FMGC1(1CA1) SELECTED", or "FMGC1_615A(1CA1) SELECTED" indication comes into view. NOTE: If the PDL is not connected: The "CONNECT PDL PUSH SEL" indication comes into view.
7.Close circuit breaker 10CA1.	The power-up test of FMGC1 starts. At the end of this test, you can hear the three click aural-warning.
8.Put the F1420060 FM BITE - DOWNLOAD TOOL (FMGC 1) in the disk drive or select the "FM BITE DOWNLOAD TOOL" option from the PDL menu (refer to the PDL user guide).
9.Open circuit breaker 10CA1.
10.On the DLSU: Push the SEL key.	On the DLSU: The "FMGC1(1CA1) NOT SELECTED" or "FMGC1_615A(1CA1) NOT SELECTED" indication comes into view.
11.On the center pedestal, on the DLSU: Push the PREV or NEXT key until you get the "FMGC2(1CA2)" indication.	On the DLSU: The "FMGC2(1CA2) NOT SELECTED" indication comes into view.
12.On the center pedestal, on the DLSU: Push the SEL key.	On the DLSU: The "FMGC2(1CA2) SELECTED" indication comes into view.
13.Close circuit breaker 10CA2.	The power-up test of FMGC2 starts. At the end of this test, you can hear the three click aural-warning.
14.Put the F1420061 FM BITE DOWNLOAD TOOL in the disk drive or select the "FM BITE DOWNLOAD TOOL" option from the PDL menu (refer to the PDL user guide).
15.On the DLSU: Set the ON/OFF control switch to OFF.
16.Open circuit breaker 10CA2 (wait for more than five seconds).
17.Close circuit breakers 10CA1 and 10CA2.

(b) Install the access cover and tighten the two middle quick-release fasteners.

C. Removal of the PDL
(1) On the center pedestal, on DATA LOADING panel 117VU:
(a) Disconnect the cable from the ALT45200001 PORTABLE DATA LOADER or the LOADER - DATA, PORTABLE and from the DATA LOADER connector (2147VC).
(b) Install the access cover and tighten the two middle quick-release fasteners.

C. Removal of the PDL
