A. Lubricate the Slat-Track Pinion Bearings, Slat Track Rollers, Pinions and Rack Teeth
(a) Clean the grease nipples with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
1 Lubricate the slat-track pinion bearings and the slat track rollers through the grease nipples at a maximum pressure of 3 bar (43.5 psi).
(c) If you use manually-operated lubrication equipment:
1 Lubricate the slat-track pinion bearings and the slat track rollers through the grease nipples.
(d) Lubricate until the new grease comes out.
(e) Remove the unwanted grease from the grease nipples, the slat track rollers and the slat-track pinion bearings with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(f) Make sure that the grease nipple balls are in the correct position against their seats after lubrication.
(2) Use a BRUSH - BRISTLED to lubricate the pinions and the rack teeth as follows:
(a) Lightly apply Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened - (Material No.03GBD1) or Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) on the pinions and on the rack teeth as far as possible.
5. Close-upNOTE: For grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).
(1) Use a GUN - GREASE to lubricate the slat-track pinion bearings and the slat track rollers with a Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened - (Material No.03GBD1) or Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) as follows: (a) Clean the grease nipples with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
CAUTION:
IF YOU USE POWER-OPERATED LUBRICATION EQUIPMENT, DO NOT USE AN AIR SUPPLY PRESSURE OF MORE THAN 3 BARS (43.5 PSI).
THE AIR PRESSURE CAUSES THE GREASE TO COME OUT OF THE EQUIPMENT WITH MORE FORCE THAN IF YOU USE MANUALLY-OPERATED EQUIPMENT. THUS IF THE AIR PRESSURE IS TOO HIGH, THE GREASE WILL POSSIBLY CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE PINION BEARING SEALS.
(b) If you use power-operated lubrication equipment: 1 Lubricate the slat-track pinion bearings and the slat track rollers through the grease nipples at a maximum pressure of 3 bar (43.5 psi).
