  • Make sure that the landing-gear control-lever (6GA) is in the DOWN position
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to operate the landing-gear controls.
   (2) On the panel 110VU , make sure that the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle is folded into the center console.
Subtask 05-59-32-481-051-A
B. Safety Precautions
   (1) Put the safety barriers in position.
   (2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
Subtask 05-59-32-010-050-A
C. Get Access
   (1) Open the NLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
   (2) Open the MLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
   (3) Make sure that the safety devices are installed on the landing gear doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-002).
   (4) Get access to the avionics compartment.
     (a) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at the access door 824.
     (b) Open the access door 824.
4. Procedure
Subtask 05-59-32-860-051-A
A. Put the Aircraft Systems in the Normal Configuration after a "Flight with Gear Down"
   (1) In the avionics compartment, on the panel 188VU:
     (a) Set the L/G DOWN VMO/MMO SELECTION switch 22FP to L/G NORM.
     (b) Lock the safety cover and safety it with lockwire 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.
Subtask 05-59-32-860-052-A
B. Inspection of the NLG
   (1) Do a General Visual Inspection of the protective finish on the surface of the NLG and its components for damage.
   (2) Do a General Visual Inspection of the shock-absorber sliding tube and the chrome plating on the NLG retraction actuator and downlock-release-actuator rods. Do a check for wear, scores and damage.
If:
  • the chrome surface of the shock-absorber sliding tube, or
  • the chrome plating on the NLG retraction actuator, or
  • the NLG downlock release actuator
are possibly dry, put a small quantity of Mineral Hydraulic Fluid-Damper - - (Material No.02BBB9) on a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
Apply a thin layer of hydraulic-fluid on the chromium surfaces.
   (3) Do a General Visual Inspection of the NLG hydraulic hoses and rigid pipes.
Make sure that:
  • the Hydraulic Hoses and Rigid Pipes are correctly installed and clamped. Do a General Visual Inspection for distortion, cracks, damage and signs of fretting because of vibration.
  • All the hoses are installed in their correct location and are not twisted.
  • There are no signs of hydraulic leakage from the unions.
  • All the brackets, line support blocks and clamps are correctly installed and safetied.
  • There is the correct clearance between all hydraulic pipelines and their related structure.
   (4) Do a General Visual Inspection of the NLG Electrical Conduits, Connectors and Protective Coverings.
Make sure that:
  • All the electrical conduits, connectors and protective coatings are in good condition.
  • All the electrical connections and connectors are correctly installed and safetied.
  • There is no fluid contamination.
If necessary, clean the area of contamination.
