A. If there is an electrical burning smell:
   (1) With the flight or cabin crew, try to find the source of the burning smell.
NOTE: To help you to identify the cause of the burning smell (electrical burning or contamination of the air-conditioning system or burning smell from the engine or the APU), you must refer to the applicable paragraph of this procedure.
   (2) Make an estimate of the electrical damage, and de-energize the applicable electrical power network (commercial/servicing/galley).
Refer to the applicable paragraph of this procedure.
   (3) If a circuit breaker tripped:
   (4) If no circuit breaker tripped:
     (a) If there is an ECAM warning, a message or a local observation:
  • Refer to the applicable trouble shooting procedure.
     (b) If there is no ECAM warning, message or local observation:
  • Do an inspection of the electrical circuits and related mechanical components for arcing, chafing or short circuit, ESPM 2052000.
       1 If there is damage:
  • Repair or replace the damaged components, ESPM 2053000.
2 If there is no damage:
a If you smell oil (because of contamination of the air conditioning system):
b If you smell oil from the engine:
c If you smell fumes during the pre-conditioning with the APU:
d If there is a smell and fumes in the cabin:
