   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

   (1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO HOLD THE MATING PARTS WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE TUBE OR HOSE NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, YOU CAN TWIST OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TUBES OR HOSES.

A. Removal of the Last Chance Oil Strainers
   (1) Removal of the protection cover.
CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
     (a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.
   (2) Remove the fan exit liner segments at the 7:30 and 11 o'clock positions (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-08-000-801).
   (3) Find the last chance oil strainers (4), (15), (28), (47), (63) and (75) as follows:
     (a) Find the No. 1 and 1.5 bearing compartment strainer (4) forward of the Compressor Intermediate Case (CIC) firewall at the 9 o'clock position
     (b) Find the No. 3 bearing compartment bevel gear strainer (15) on the CIC at the 7:30 o'clock position
     (c) Find the gearbox strainer (28) in the Oil Control Module (OCM)

     (d) Find the No. 4 bearing compartment strainer (47) on the High Pressure Turbine (HPT) case at the 4 o'clock position
     (e) Find the No. 5 and 6 bearing compartment strainer (63) above the N1 flange at the 11 o'clock position
     (f) Find the No. 3 bearing compartment gearbox bevel gear strainer (75) on the CIC at the 9 o'clock position

B. Remove the No. 1 and 1.5 bearing compartment strainer (4) and the tee assembly (LP60) (3) as follow:
   (1) Put a CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) below the tee assembly (LP60) (3).
   (2) Disconnect the tee assembly (LP60) (3) B-nut from the tube (LP63).
   (3) Remove the six bolts (5), the tee assembly (LP60) (3), seal (1) and strainer (4) from the oil manifold and tube (LP61).
   (4) Remove the strainer (4) from the tee assembly (LP60) (3).
   (5) Remove and discard the packing (2) from the tube (LP63).

C. Remove the No. 3 bearing compartment bevel gear strainer (15) and tube (LP32) (16) as follows:
   (1) Put a CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) below the tube (LP32) (16).
   (2) Disconnect the tube (LP32) (16) B-nut from the oil manifold.
   (3) Disconnect the tube (LP112) B-nut and remove the tube (LP32) (16).
   (4) Remove the strainer (15) from the tube (LP112).
   (5) Remove the metering plug (17) from the tube (LP32) (16).

D. Remove the gearbox strainer (28) as follows:
F Gearbox Strainer ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Put a CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) below the OCM.
   (2) Remove the two bolts (30) and plate (27) from the OCM.
   (3) Remove and discard the packing (29) from the plate (27).
   (4) Remove the strainer (28) from the OCM.

E. Remove the No. 4 bearing compartment strainer (47) and tube (LP41) (46) as follows:
   (1) Put a CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) below tube (LP41) (46) .
   (2) Remove the three bolts (44), two clamps (45), clamp (41) and heat shield (40) from the tube (LP41) (46).
   (3) Disconnect the tube (LP41) (46) B-nut from the tube (LP45).
   (4) Remove the metering plug (49) from the tube (LP41) (46).
   (5) Disconnect the tube (LP121) B-nut and remove the tube (LP41) (46).
   (6) Remove the gasket (48) from the tube (LP41) (46).
   (7) Remove the strainer (47) from the tube (LP121).
   (8) Remove the two bolts (43) and bracket (42) from the bracket.

F. Remove the No. 5 and 6 bearing compartment strainer (63) and tube (LP46) (59) as follows:
   (1) Put a CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) under the tube (LP46) (59).
   (2) Remove the two hose clamps (60), heat shields (61) and heat shields (62) from the tube (LP46) (59).
   (3) Disconnect the tube (LP46) (59) B-nut from tube (LP45).
   (4) Disconnect the tube (LP131) B-nut from the tube (LP46) (59).
   (5) Remove the five bolts (58), the five clamps (57) and tube (LP46) (59) from the brackets.
   (6) Remove the strainer (63) from the tube (LP46) (59).

G. Remove the No. 3 bearing compartment gearbox bevel gear strainer (75) and tube (LP30) (74) as follows:
   (1) Disconnect the tube (LP30) (74) B-nut from the oil manifold.
   (2) Disconnect the tube (LP111) B-nut and remove the tube (LP30) (74).
   (3) Remove the strainer (75) from the tube (LP111).
   (4) Remove the metering plug (73) from the tube (LP30) (74).

POST SB C-72-00-0077A
   (5) Remove the strainer from the lubrication and scavenge oil pump, if necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 79-21-01-000-801).

   (6) Installation of the protection cover.
CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
     (a) Make sure that you install all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.
