Subtask 79-11-05-941-055-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

4. Procedure
Subtask 79-11-05-960-052-A
A. Replacement of the Lower Strainer
WARNING: USE PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT. USE THE ENGINE OIL IN A WELL-VENTILATED AREA. ENGINE OIL IS TOXIC.
   (1) Put a CONTAINER 30 L(8 USGAL) below the oil tank (10).
   (2) Drain the oil tank (10) (Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-79-610-808).
   (3) Removal of the lower strainer (14):
     (a) Removal of the oil tube (2):
       1 Loosen and remove the four nuts (4) to disconnect the oil tube (2).
       2 Remove the four bolts (3) that attach the oil tube (1) to the oil tube (2).
       3 Disconnect the oil tube (2) from the oil tube (1).
       4 Remove and discard the gasket (5) from the oil tube (2).
       5 Remove the two bolts (8) from the clamp (7) that attach the oil tube (2) to the bracket (6).
       6 Remove the clamp (7) from the bracket (6).
       7 Remove and discard the semi-shouldered bushing (9) from the oil tube (2).
       8 Remove the four bolts (11) of the oil tube (2).
       9 Disconnect the oil tube (2) from the oil tank (10).
       10 Remove and discard the gasket (12) from the oil tube (2).
       11 Remove the oil tube (2).
       12 Let the oil drain into the CONTAINER 30 L(8 USGAL).
     (b) Remove the retaining ring and lower strainer:
CAUTION: DO NOT USE A SCREWDRIVER OR EQUIVALENT TOOLS AS A LEVER. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE STRAINER OR THE OIL TANK BODY.
       1 Engage an equivalent tool into the removal notch of the retaining ring (13).
       2 Pull out the first end of the retaining ring (13) with an equivalent tool.
       3 Manually twist the retaining ring (13) until it is free from its grooves.
       4 Remove the retaining ring (13).
NOTE: The strainer can fall when the retaining ring is removed.
       5 Remove the lower strainer (14).
       6 Install the COVER - PROTECTION and the CAP - PROTECTION on all the open ports, tubes, hoses and the disconnected connectors.
   (4) Installation of the lower strainer (14):
     (a) Remove all COVER - PROTECTION and the CAP - PROTECTION from the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
     (b) Make sure that the mating faces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
     (c) Install the lower strainer (14) in correct position in the oil tank (10).
     (d) Put the EIPC 79-11-05-02-120 RETAINING RING (13) on the lower strainer (14) with an equivalent tool.
     (e) Installation of the oil tube (2):
       1 Lubricate the threads of the four bolts (11) with engine oil (Material No.
CP2442) .
       2 Install the new EIPC 79-11-05-01-090 GASKET (12) and oil tube (2) in correct position on the oil tank (10).
       3 Install the four bolts (11) to attach the oil tube (2) to the oil tank (10) and tighten with your hand.
       4 TORQUE the four bolts (11) to between 120.75 and 109.25 lbf.in (1.36 and 1.23 m.daN )
T.
       5 Install the new
EIPC 79-11-05-05-070 SEMI-SHOULDERED BUSHING (9) on the oil tube (2).
       6 Install the clamp (7) on the bracket (6).
       7 Install the two bolts (8) on the clamp (7) to attach the oil tube (2) to the bracket (6) and tighten with your hand.
       8 TORQUE the two bolts (8) to between 46.45 and 42.05 lbf.in (0.52 and 0.48 m.daN )
T.
       9 Install the new
EIPC 79-11-05-05-030 GASKET (5) and oil tube (2) in correct position on the oil tube (1).
       10 Install the four bolts (3) and the four nuts (4) to attach the oil tube (2) to the oil tube (1) and tighten with your hand.
       11 TORQUE the four nuts (4) to between 92.4 and 84.1 lbf.in (1.04 and 0.95 m.daN )
T.
   (5) Remove the CONTAINER 30 L(8 USGAL) kept below the oil tank (10).

   (2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
