BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 79-11-05-010-054-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
4. Procedure(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
Subtask 79-11-05-960-051-A
A. Replacement of Assembly Cap, Adapter and/or Packing
(2) Drain the oil tank (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-79-610-808).
(3) Removal of cap assembly (2) and adapter assembly (9):
(a) Removal of the cap assembly (2).
1 Disconnection of the drain tube (4) from the cap assembly (2).
a Loosen the coupling nut (5) to disconnect the drain tube (4) from the nipple (3) of the cap assembly (2).
2 Loosen and remove the two screws (6) that attach the cap assembly (2) and the adapter assembly (9) to the oil tank (1).
3 Carefully remove the cap assembly (2) from the adapter assembly (9).
4 Disconnect the drain tube (4).
5 Remove and discard the O-ring (7) from the grooves of the cap assembly (2).
6 Remove and discard the scupper gasket (8) from the cap assembly (2).
(b) Removal of the adapter assembly (9):
1 Remove the adapter insulator (10) from top of the adapter assembly (9).
2 Remove the adapter assembly (9) from the oil tank (1).
3 Remove and discard the O-ring (11) from the groove of the adapter assembly (9).
(c) Install the COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION on all the open ports, tubes and hoses.
(4) Installation of cap assembly (2) and adapter assembly (9):
(a) Remove all COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION from openings, tubes and hoses.
(b) Make sure that all the mating faces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
(c) Installation of the adapter assembly (9):
1 Install the new EIPC 79-11-05-15-100 O-RING (11) (11) in the grooves of the adapter assembly (9)
2 Install the adapter assembly (9) in correct position on the oil tank (1).
3 Install the adapter insulator (10) on top of the adapter assembly (9).
(d) Installation of the cap assembly (2).
1 Lubricate the threads of the two screws (6), new EIPC 79-11-05-15-060 O-RING (7), new EIPC 79-11-05-15-070 SCUPPER GASKET (8) and threads of the nipple (3) with the engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
2 Install the new scupper gasket (8) on the cap assembly (2).
3 Install the new O-ring (7) in the grooves of the cap assembly (2).
4 Install the cap assembly (2) in correct position on the adapter assembly (9).
5 Install the two screws (6) to attach the cap assembly (2) and the adapter assembly (9) to the oil tank (1).
6 TORQUE the two screws (6) to between 35 and 32 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.36 m.daN )

7 Connection of the drain tube (4) to the cap assembly (2):
a Engage the drain tube (4) to the nipple (3) of the cap assembly (2).
b TORQUE the coupling nut (5) to between 300 and 262 lbf.in (3.39 and 2.96 m.daN )
.
(5) Remove the CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) kept below the oil tank (1).
Subtask 79-11-05-710-052-A 5. Close-upWARNING:
USE PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT. USE THE ENGINE OIL IN A WELL-VENTILATED AREA. ENGINE OIL IS TOXIC.
(1) Put a CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) below the oil tank (1). (2) Drain the oil tank (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-79-610-808).
(3) Removal of cap assembly (2) and adapter assembly (9):
(a) Removal of the cap assembly (2).
1 Disconnection of the drain tube (4) from the cap assembly (2).
a Loosen the coupling nut (5) to disconnect the drain tube (4) from the nipple (3) of the cap assembly (2).
2 Loosen and remove the two screws (6) that attach the cap assembly (2) and the adapter assembly (9) to the oil tank (1).
3 Carefully remove the cap assembly (2) from the adapter assembly (9).
4 Disconnect the drain tube (4).
5 Remove and discard the O-ring (7) from the grooves of the cap assembly (2).
6 Remove and discard the scupper gasket (8) from the cap assembly (2).
(b) Removal of the adapter assembly (9):
1 Remove the adapter insulator (10) from top of the adapter assembly (9).
2 Remove the adapter assembly (9) from the oil tank (1).
3 Remove and discard the O-ring (11) from the groove of the adapter assembly (9).
(c) Install the COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION on all the open ports, tubes and hoses.
(4) Installation of cap assembly (2) and adapter assembly (9):
(a) Remove all COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION from openings, tubes and hoses.
(b) Make sure that all the mating faces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
(c) Installation of the adapter assembly (9):
1 Install the new EIPC 79-11-05-15-100 O-RING (11) (11) in the grooves of the adapter assembly (9)
2 Install the adapter assembly (9) in correct position on the oil tank (1).
3 Install the adapter insulator (10) on top of the adapter assembly (9).
(d) Installation of the cap assembly (2).
1 Lubricate the threads of the two screws (6), new EIPC 79-11-05-15-060 O-RING (7), new EIPC 79-11-05-15-070 SCUPPER GASKET (8) and threads of the nipple (3) with the engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .

5 Install the two screws (6) to attach the cap assembly (2) and the adapter assembly (9) to the oil tank (1).
6 TORQUE the two screws (6) to between 35 and 32 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.36 m.daN )

(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
