Installation of the Thrust Reverser Hydraulic Isolation Valve

WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.
WARNING: REFER TO THE MANUFACTURER'S MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEETS FOR CONSUMABLE MATERIAL INFORMATION. THIS INCLUDES HAZARDOUS INGREDIENTS, PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS, FIRE, EXPLOSION, REACTIVITY, HEALTH HAZARD DATA, PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING, AND USE OF CONTROL MEASURES.
WARNING: WEAR A FACE SHIELD WHICH IS RESISTANT TO HIGH PRESSURE JETS WHEN YOU WORK ON PRESSURIZED SYSTEMS.
WARNING: DO NOT GET THE FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. IF YOU DO:
  • FLUSH IT AWAY WITH CLEAN WATER
  • GET MEDICAL AID.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THERE IS NO UNWANTED MATERIAL IN THE PORTS AND ORIFICES OR DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.

Subtask 78-37-51-420-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Thrust Reverser Hydraulic Isolation Valve
   (1) Put a CLOTH - PROTECTIVE in the location where you will install the thrust reverser isolation valve.
The hydraulic fluid will cause damage to the engine.
   (2) Put the thermal isolation (155) between the spacers (27) and (26) in position on the support plate (5).
NOTE: You must install the shortest spacer (26) on the isolation valve side.
   (3) Put the isolation valve (45) in position on the support plate (5) with the four bolts (35), the washers (30) and the spacers (25). Do not tighten the bolts.
   (4) Install and connect the pressure supply tube (125) between the filter and the isolation valve (45).
   (5) Remove the blanking plugs from the ports of the isolation valve and the filter.
   (6) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
   (7) TORQUE the four bolts (35) to between 0.79 and 0.56 m.daN (69.91 and 49.56 lbf.in ) T.
   (8) Safety the bolts (35) with the corrosion resistant steel lockwire 0.8 mm DIA..
   (9) Remove the tube (125).
   (10) Install the assembly support plate (5) with the isolation valve (45) in position below the pylon with the bolts (20) and (50) and the washers (15). Do not tighten the bolts.
NOTE: The bolts (50) are shorter than the bolts (20).
   (11) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
   (12) Connect the pressure supply tube (70), the control tube (115) and the return tube (120).
   (13) TORQUE the coupling nuts of the pressure supply tube (70) and the control tube (115) to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft )
T.
   (14) TORQUE the coupling nut of the pressure return tube (120) to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft )
