Removal of the Thrust Reverser Actuation System (TRAS) Track Lock Valve

E. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Ground Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).
4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 78-37-02-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Thrust-Reverser Actuation System (TRAS) Track Lock Valve (1)
NOTE: This procedure is for the TRAS track lock valve on the left thrust reverser door. The procedure for the TRAS track lock valve on the right thrust reverser door is opposite.
   (1) Disconnection of the electrical connector
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR IS CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT IT. DIRTY ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE THRUST REVERSER PROBLEMS.
CAUTION: USE TEFLON-JAWED PLIERS TO LOOSEN/TIGHTEN ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. DO NOT USE METAL-JAWED PLIERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN OCCUR.
     (a) Disconnect TRAS track lock harness from the TRAS track lock valve (1).
NOTE: The Functional Item Number (FIN) is 4141KS-A for the left TRAS track lock harness and 4142KS-A for the right TRAS track lock harness.
     (b) Install CAP - PROTECTION on the TRAS track lock harness connector and TRAS track lock valve (1).
   (2) Disconnection of the supply tube.
WARNING: YOU MUST NOT GET HYDRAULIC FLUID ON YOUR SKIN, IN YOUR EYES OR IN YOUR MOUTH. THE HYDRAULIC FLUID IS POISONOUS AND CAN BE ABSORBED INTO YOUR BODY. IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY GET HYDRAULIC FLUID IN YOUR EYES, MOUTH OR ON YOUR SKIN, FLUSH WITH WATER AND GET MEDICAL AID.
CAUTION: HYDRAULIC FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT. IF HYDRAULIC FLUID FALLS ON A SURFACE, IMMEDIATELY CLEAN THE SURFACE WITH A CLEAN CLOTH.
     (a) Put a CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) or lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) under the TRAS track lock valve (1) to collect the remaining hydraulic fluid.
     (b) Disconnect the supply tube, control tube and return tube from the TRAS track lock valve (1).
     (c) Install CAP - BLANKING on the supply tube, control tube, return tube and TRAS track lock valve (1).
   (3) Remove the bolt (4) and washers (2) and (3) that attach the grounding strap lug and TRAS track lock valve (1) to the torque box.
   (4) Remove the two bolts (6) and two washers (5) that attach the TRAS track lock valve (1) to the torque box.
   (5) Remove the TRAS track lock valve (1) from the torque box.
