Subtask 78-36-41-820-059-A
(b) Install the GAGE - PUSH-PULL (2) on the latch L2 handle (3) tip.
(c) Measure the force necessary to close latch L2 (1) with the GAGE - PUSH-PULL (2).
1 The force necessary to close latch L2 (1) must be between 11 daN (24.73 lbf) and 15 daN (33.72 lbf).
2 If the force is not within the limits, do the adjustment procedure from step 4.A.(1).(d).
(d) Open latch L2 (1).
(e) Push back the keeper (4) to disengage the anti-rotation device (5) from the tension nut (6).
(f) Tighten or loosen the tension nut (6) with a WRENCH - HEXAGONAL (10) to increase or decrease the latch L2 (1) tension.
(g) Release the keeper (4) to engage the anti-rotation device (5) with the tension nut (6).
(h) Install the GAGE - PUSH-PULL (2) on the latch L2 handle (3) tip.
(i) Measure the force necessary to close latch L2 (1) with the GAGE - PUSH-PULL (2).
1 If the force is not within the limits, repeat the procedure steps 4.A.(1).(d) thru 4.A.(1).(i).
(2) Adjustment of the latch L4-1 (7) tension:
(b) Install the GAGE - PUSH-PULL (2) on the hole of the latch L4-1 handle (8) tip.
(c) Measure the force necessary to close latch L4-1 (7) with the GAGE - PUSH-PULL (2).
1 The force necessary to close latch L4-1 (7) must be between 11 daN (24.73 lbf) and 15 daN (33.72 lbf).
2 If the force is not within the limits, do the procedure from step 4.A.(2).(d).
(d) Open latch L4-1 (7).
(e) Turn the adjustable take-up (9) to increase or decrease the latch L4-1 (7) tension with a SCREWDRIVER - FLAT HEAD (11).
(f) Install the GAGE - PUSH-PULL on the latch L4-1 handle (8) tip.
(g) Measure the force to close latch L4-1 (7) with the GAGE - PUSH-PULL (2).

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 78-36-41-010-083-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
Subtask 78-36-41-010-084-A WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for nacelle maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807). D. Get Access
(1) Put the INSPECTION CREEPER in position.
(2) Open the 6 o'clock rear and forward latch access doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-46-010-801).
4. Procedure(1) Put the INSPECTION CREEPER in position.
(2) Open the 6 o'clock rear and forward latch access doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-46-010-801).

CAUTION:
DO NOT MEASURE THE FORCE WHEN THE LATCH HANDLE IS FULLY CLOSED. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
A. Adjustment of the Thrust Reverser Latch Tension NOTE: Make sure that all the latches are fully closed.
(1) Adjustment of the latch L2 (1) tension: NOTE: This procedure is given for latch L2. It is also applicable for latch L1, latch L3-1, latch L3-2, LACC-1 and LACC-2.
(a) Open latch L2 (1). (b) Install the GAGE - PUSH-PULL (2) on the latch L2 handle (3) tip.
(c) Measure the force necessary to close latch L2 (1) with the GAGE - PUSH-PULL (2).
1 The force necessary to close latch L2 (1) must be between 11 daN (24.73 lbf) and 15 daN (33.72 lbf).
2 If the force is not within the limits, do the adjustment procedure from step 4.A.(1).(d).
(d) Open latch L2 (1).
(e) Push back the keeper (4) to disengage the anti-rotation device (5) from the tension nut (6).
(f) Tighten or loosen the tension nut (6) with a WRENCH - HEXAGONAL (10) to increase or decrease the latch L2 (1) tension.
(g) Release the keeper (4) to engage the anti-rotation device (5) with the tension nut (6).
(h) Install the GAGE - PUSH-PULL (2) on the latch L2 handle (3) tip.
(i) Measure the force necessary to close latch L2 (1) with the GAGE - PUSH-PULL (2).
1 If the force is not within the limits, repeat the procedure steps 4.A.(1).(d) thru 4.A.(1).(i).
(2) Adjustment of the latch L4-1 (7) tension:
NOTE: This procedure is given for latch L4-1. It is also applicable for latch L4-2.
(a) Open latch L4-1 (7). (b) Install the GAGE - PUSH-PULL (2) on the hole of the latch L4-1 handle (8) tip.
(c) Measure the force necessary to close latch L4-1 (7) with the GAGE - PUSH-PULL (2).
1 The force necessary to close latch L4-1 (7) must be between 11 daN (24.73 lbf) and 15 daN (33.72 lbf).
2 If the force is not within the limits, do the procedure from step 4.A.(2).(d).
(d) Open latch L4-1 (7).
(e) Turn the adjustable take-up (9) to increase or decrease the latch L4-1 (7) tension with a SCREWDRIVER - FLAT HEAD (11).
(f) Install the GAGE - PUSH-PULL on the latch L4-1 handle (8) tip.
(g) Measure the force to close latch L4-1 (7) with the GAGE - PUSH-PULL (2).
NOTE: If the force is not within the limits, repeat the procedure steps 4.A.(2).(d) thru 4.A.(2).(i).

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the 6 o'clock rear and forward latch access doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-46-410-801).
(3) Remove the INSPECTION CREEPER.
