(a) Remove the screw (1) and the fork latch L1 pin retention (2).
(c) Remove the latch L1 (4).
(2) Removal of the latch L2 (10):
(a) Remove the screws (5) and washers (6) from the fire box latch L2 (7).
(b) Remove the fire box latch L2 (7).
(c) Remove and discard the cotter pin (8).
(e) Remove the latch L2 (10).
(3) Removal of the latches L3-1 (13) and L3-2 (14):
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pins (11) and (47).
(c) Remove the latches L3-1 (13) and L3-2 (14).
(4) Removal of latches LACC-1 (19) and LACC-2 (20):
(a) Loosen the screws (15) by 1/4 of a turn to open the thermal blanket (16).
(b) Remove and discard the cotter pin (17).
(d) Remove latches LACC-1(19) and LACC-2 (20).
(5) Removal of latches L4-1 (24) and L4-2 (25):
(b) Remove the screws (21).
(c) Remove the retainer (22) on the pin (23) of latches L4-1 (24) and L4-2 (25).

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 78-36-41-010-085-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.

WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
A. Removal of the Thrust Reverser Cowl Latches NOTE: You can remove each latch independently of the others.
(1) Removal of the latch L1 (4): (a) Remove the screw (1) and the fork latch L1 pin retention (2).
NOTE: Keep latch L1 when you remove the pin from latch L1.
(b) Remove the pin (3) from latch L1 (4). (c) Remove the latch L1 (4).
(2) Removal of the latch L2 (10):
(a) Remove the screws (5) and washers (6) from the fire box latch L2 (7).
(b) Remove the fire box latch L2 (7).
(c) Remove and discard the cotter pin (8).
NOTE: Keep latch L2 when you remove the pin from latch L2.
(d) Remove the pin (9) of the latch L2 (10). (e) Remove the latch L2 (10).
(3) Removal of the latches L3-1 (13) and L3-2 (14):
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pins (11) and (47).
NOTE: Keep latches L3-1 and L3-2 when you remove the pin from latches L3-1 and L3-2.
(b) Remove the pin (12) of the latches L3-1 (13) and L3-2 (14). (c) Remove the latches L3-1 (13) and L3-2 (14).
(4) Removal of latches LACC-1 (19) and LACC-2 (20):
(a) Loosen the screws (15) by 1/4 of a turn to open the thermal blanket (16).
(b) Remove and discard the cotter pin (17).
NOTE: Keep latches LACC-1 and LACC-2 when you remove the pin from latches LACC-1 and LACC-2.
(c) Remove the pin (18) from latches LACC-1(19) and LACC-2 (20). (d) Remove latches LACC-1(19) and LACC-2 (20).
(5) Removal of latches L4-1 (24) and L4-2 (25):
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER COWL DOORS DO NOT EXTEND TO MORE THAN 254 MM (10 IN.). IF THEY DO, THERE IS A HIGH RISK THAT DAMAGE TO THE THRUST REVERSER END AND THE WING WILL OCCUR.
(a) Manually deploy the thrust reverser cowl doors to 254 mm (10.00 in.) maximum (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-50-010-801). (b) Remove the screws (21).
(c) Remove the retainer (22) on the pin (23) of latches L4-1 (24) and L4-2 (25).
NOTE: Keep latches L4-1 and L4-2 when you remove the pin from latches L4-1 and L4-2.
(d) Remove pin (23) of the latches L4-1 (24) and L4-2 (25). (e) Remove latches L4-1 (24) and L4-2 (25).
B. Removal of the Thrust Reverser Cowl Latch Keepers
(a) Push the latch keeper L1 (28) back to get free anti-rotation on the device of the tension nut (26).
(b) Remove the tension nut (26).
(c) Remove the spring (27) and the latch keeper L1 (28).
(2) Removal of the latch keeper L2 (31):
(a) Push the latch keeper L2 (31) back to get free anti-rotation on the device of the tension nut (29).
(b) Remove the tension nut (29).
(c) Remove the spring (30) and the latch keeper L2 (31).
(3) Removal of the latch keeper L3-1 (34) and L3-2 (37):
(a) Push the latch keeper L3-1 (34) and L3-2 (37) back to get the free anti-rotation on the device of the tension nut (32) and (35).
(b) Remove the tension nut (32) and (35).
(c) Remove the spring (33) and (36) and the latch keeper L3-1 (34) and L3-2 (37).
(4) Removal of the latch keeper LACC-1 (40) and LACC-2 (43):
(a) Push the latch keeper LACC-1 (40) and LACC-2 (43) back to get the free anti-rotation on the device of the tension nut (38) and (41).
(b) Remove the tension nut (38) and (41).
(c) Remove the spring (39) and (42) and the latch keeper LACC-1 (40) and LACC-2 (43).
(5) Remove the transcowl latch keepers L4-1 and L4-2:
(a) Remove the screws (44).
(b) Remove the keeper retainer (45).
(c) Remove the keeper bolt (46).
NOTE: You can remove each latch keeper independently of the others.
(1) Removal of the latch keeper L1 (28): (a) Push the latch keeper L1 (28) back to get free anti-rotation on the device of the tension nut (26).
(b) Remove the tension nut (26).
(c) Remove the spring (27) and the latch keeper L1 (28).
(2) Removal of the latch keeper L2 (31):
(a) Push the latch keeper L2 (31) back to get free anti-rotation on the device of the tension nut (29).
(b) Remove the tension nut (29).
(c) Remove the spring (30) and the latch keeper L2 (31).
(3) Removal of the latch keeper L3-1 (34) and L3-2 (37):
(a) Push the latch keeper L3-1 (34) and L3-2 (37) back to get the free anti-rotation on the device of the tension nut (32) and (35).
(b) Remove the tension nut (32) and (35).
(c) Remove the spring (33) and (36) and the latch keeper L3-1 (34) and L3-2 (37).
(4) Removal of the latch keeper LACC-1 (40) and LACC-2 (43):
(a) Push the latch keeper LACC-1 (40) and LACC-2 (43) back to get the free anti-rotation on the device of the tension nut (38) and (41).
(b) Remove the tension nut (38) and (41).
(c) Remove the spring (39) and (42) and the latch keeper LACC-1 (40) and LACC-2 (43).
(5) Remove the transcowl latch keepers L4-1 and L4-2:
(a) Remove the screws (44).
(b) Remove the keeper retainer (45).
(c) Remove the keeper bolt (46).
