C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Ground Maintenance
4. ProcedureWARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).WARNING:
DO NOT KEEP OPEN A THRUST REVERSER DOOR WHEN THE WIND SPEED IS 46 MPH (74.0 KM/H) OR MORE. IF THE WIND MOVES THE THRUST REVERSER DOOR, INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL IF YOU OPEN/CLOSE A THRUST REVERSER DOOR WHEN THE WIND SPEED IS 23 MPH (37 KM/H) OR MORE. IF THE WIND MOVES THE THRUST REVERSER DOOR, INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
WARNING:
WHEN YOU OPEN OR CLOSE THE THRUST REVERSER DOORS, MAKE SURE THAT THE AREA BELOW AND BETWEEN THE DOORS IS CLEAR. IF THE DOORS CLOSE SUDDENLY, INJURY TO PERSONS CAN OCCUR.
Subtask 78-36-00-410-096-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
YOU MUST NOT USE THE HANDLE OF THE LATCHES AS AN AID TO CLOSE THE THRUST REVERSER HALF ON THE V-GROOVE.
CAUTION:
BEFORE YOU CLOSE THE THRUST REVERSER COWL DOOR, MAKE SURE THAT HOOK OF THE LATCH L1 IS IN THE OPEN POSITION.
CAUTION:
DO NOT OPEN THE THRUST REVERSER DOOR MORE THAN 45 DEGREES FROM THE VERTICAL. DAMAGE TO THE THRUST REVERSER DOOR AND/OR PYLON CAN OCCUR.
A. Closing of the Left Thrust-Reverser Door NOTE: You must not close the thrust reverser cowl-doors at the same time. The thrust reverser cowl-doors must be closed one after the other.
