To open the thrust reverser half-doors, if the thrust reverser cowl HOR is missing.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 78-36-00-010-128-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
4. ProcedureWARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for nacelle maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807). Subtask 78-36-00-010-129-A
A. Opening of the Thrust Reverser Cowl-Doors with Hold Open Rod (HOR) Missing
(a) Remove the thrust reverser cowl HOR from opposite thrust reverser half-door or from the other engine (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-42-000-802).
(b) Install the thrust reverser cowl HOR (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-42-400-802).
(2) Open the thrust reverser cowl door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806).
WARNING:
DO NOT DO MAINTENANCE IN THE CORE AREA WITHOUT THE THRUST REVERSER HOR. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, INJURY TO PERSONNEL OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
(1) Install the thrust reverser cowl-doors HOR on the thrust reverser cowl-doors: (a) Remove the thrust reverser cowl HOR from opposite thrust reverser half-door or from the other engine (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-42-000-802).
(b) Install the thrust reverser cowl HOR (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-42-400-802).
(2) Open the thrust reverser cowl door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806).
