A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 78-36-00-010-127-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.

B. Get Access

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
4. ProcedureWARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for nacelle maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807). Subtask 78-36-00-010-125-A

(2) Opening of the thrust reverser cowl to approximately the ten-degree open position.
1 Remove the filler plugs from the forward hoisting points (1) at the 6 o'clock area.
2 Make sure that the hoisting point insert is clean and in good condition.
3 Apply theCPNCL00667 LUBRICATING COMPOUND (LIQUI-MOLY GRADE NV) on the threads of the SHACKLE WORK LOAD LIMIT 1000 KG (2204LB).
4 Install the SHACKLE WORK LOAD LIMIT 1000 KG (2204LB) into the hoisting points (1).
5 TORQUE the SHACKLE WORK LOAD LIMIT 1000 KG (2204LB) to between 3 and 2 m.daN (22.12 and 14.75 lbf.ft )
.
6 Attach the SLING 1000 KG (2205 LBS)/2.5 M (8.25 FT) LONG to the SHACKLE WORK LOAD LIMIT 1000 KG (2204LB) and to the HOIST 1000 KG (2200 LB).
7 Lift the HOIST 1000 KG (2200 LB) until the sling holds the weight of the cowl.

(3) Installation of the thrust reverser cowl opening actuator on the thrust reverser cowl:
(a) Remove the thrust reverser cowl opening actuator from the opposite thrust reverser half-door or from the other engine (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-51-000-802).
(b) Install the thrust reverser cowl opening actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-51-400-802).

(4) Removal of the SHACKLE WORK LOAD LIMIT 1000 KG (2204LB):
(a) Close the thrust reverser with the HOIST 1000 KG (2200 LB) until the sling does not hold the weight of the cowl.
(b) Remove the SLING 1000 KG (2205 LBS)/2.5 M (8.25 FT) LONG from the SHACKLE WORK LOAD LIMIT 1000 KG (2204LB) and the HOIST 1000 KG (2200 LB).
(c) Remove the SHACKLE WORK LOAD LIMIT 1000 KG (2204LB).
(d) Install the filler plugs in the forward hoisting points (1) at the 6 o'clock area.

(5) Open the thrust reverser cowl door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806).
WARNING:
DO NOT DO MAINTENANCE IN THE CORE AREA WITHOUT THE THRUST REVERSER OPENING ACTUATOR AND THE HOLD OPEN ROD (HOR). THE ACTUATOR AND THE HOR MUST BE SAFETIED. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, INJURY TO PERSONNEL OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION:
DO NOT OPEN THE THRUST REVERSER DOORS IF THE WIND SPEED IS MORE THAN 40 KNOTS.
CAUTION:
DO NOT OPEN THE THRUST REVERSER TO MORE THAN 10 DEGREES WITH A STANDARD LIFTING RING.
(1) Open the thrust reverser cowl latches (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806).PRE SB BD70CR78-009
(2) Opening of the thrust reverser cowl to approximately the ten-degree open position.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT:
- THE THREADED LENGTH OF THE SHACKLE IS BETWEEN 19.05 MM (0.750 INCH) AND 24.10 MM (0.949 INCH)
- THE MAXIMUM EXTERNAL DIAMETER OF THE SHACKLE IS 30.50 MM (1.201 INCH).
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EXTERNAL SIDE OF THE THRUST REVERSER WITH THE SLING.
(a) Installation of the SHACKLE WORK LOAD LIMIT 1000 KG (2204LB): 1 Remove the filler plugs from the forward hoisting points (1) at the 6 o'clock area.
2 Make sure that the hoisting point insert is clean and in good condition.
3 Apply the
4 Install the SHACKLE WORK LOAD LIMIT 1000 KG (2204LB) into the hoisting points (1).
5 TORQUE the SHACKLE WORK LOAD LIMIT 1000 KG (2204LB) to between 3 and 2 m.daN (22.12 and 14.75 lbf.ft )
. 6 Attach the SLING 1000 KG (2205 LBS)/2.5 M (8.25 FT) LONG to the SHACKLE WORK LOAD LIMIT 1000 KG (2204LB) and to the HOIST 1000 KG (2200 LB).
7 Lift the HOIST 1000 KG (2200 LB) until the sling holds the weight of the cowl.
NOTE: The sling attached to the SHACKLE WORK LOAD LIMIT 1000 KG (2204LB) must be in a vertical plane.

(3) Installation of the thrust reverser cowl opening actuator on the thrust reverser cowl:
(a) Remove the thrust reverser cowl opening actuator from the opposite thrust reverser half-door or from the other engine (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-51-000-802).
(b) Install the thrust reverser cowl opening actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-51-400-802).

(4) Removal of the SHACKLE WORK LOAD LIMIT 1000 KG (2204LB):
(a) Close the thrust reverser with the HOIST 1000 KG (2200 LB) until the sling does not hold the weight of the cowl.
(b) Remove the SLING 1000 KG (2205 LBS)/2.5 M (8.25 FT) LONG from the SHACKLE WORK LOAD LIMIT 1000 KG (2204LB) and the HOIST 1000 KG (2200 LB).
(c) Remove the SHACKLE WORK LOAD LIMIT 1000 KG (2204LB).
(d) Install the filler plugs in the forward hoisting points (1) at the 6 o'clock area.
