A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 78-32-80-010-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU:

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):

C. Deactivate the Thrust Reverser
Subtask 78-32-80-010-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012). D. Open the thrust recovery nozzle.
4. ProcedureSubtask 78-32-80-020-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Remove the damaged rub strip from the pressure relief door. Do not gouge or scratch the base metal of the pressure relief door when you remove the rub strips.
Subtask 78-32-80-420-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL B. Installation of the New Rub Strip
(1) Clean the faying surfaces of the metal. Use the solvent (Material No.V01-393D) or the solvent (Material No.V01-438) .
(2) Lightly abrade the pre-cleaned metal surface using the waterproof silicon carbide abrasive paper (Material No.V05-081) . Refer toNSRM 543000 general repairs.
(3) Remove any remaining sealant and contamination on the metal surfaces using the solvent (Material No.V01-393D) or the solvent (Material No.V01-438) and a lint free cloth (Material No.V02-099) .
(4) Lightly abrade the faying surface of the PTFE rub strips with the waterproof silicon carbide abrasive paper (Material No.V05-081) . Refer to V2500NSRM 543000 general repairs.
(5) Clean the faying surface of the new PTFE rub strips with the solvent (Material No.V01-393D) or the solvent (Material No.V01-438) and a lint free cloth (Material No.V02-099) . Wipe the surface before the solvent becomes dry.
(6) Mix and prepare the adhesive (Material No.V08-021) or the adhesive (Material No.V08-104) . Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
(7) Use the adhesive (Material No.V08-021) or the adhesive (Material No.V08-104) to bond the rub strips onto the pressure relief door. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
(8) Apply the adhesive (Material No.V08-021) or the adhesive (Material No.V08-104) to the faying surfaces of the rub strips and the pressure relief door.
(9) Hold the new rub strips in place with the C-CLAMP - LARGE or a similar device until the adhesive has fully cured.
5. Close-up(1) Clean the faying surfaces of the metal. Use the solvent (Material No.V01-393D) or the solvent (Material No.V01-438) .
(2) Lightly abrade the pre-cleaned metal surface using the waterproof silicon carbide abrasive paper (Material No.V05-081) . Refer to
(3) Remove any remaining sealant and contamination on the metal surfaces using the solvent (Material No.V01-393D) or the solvent (Material No.V01-438) and a lint free cloth (Material No.V02-099) .
(4) Lightly abrade the faying surface of the PTFE rub strips with the waterproof silicon carbide abrasive paper (Material No.V05-081) . Refer to V2500
(5) Clean the faying surface of the new PTFE rub strips with the solvent (Material No.V01-393D) or the solvent (Material No.V01-438) and a lint free cloth (Material No.V02-099) . Wipe the surface before the solvent becomes dry.
(6) Mix and prepare the adhesive (Material No.V08-021) or the adhesive (Material No.V08-104) . Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
(7) Use the adhesive (Material No.V08-021) or the adhesive (Material No.V08-104) to bond the rub strips onto the pressure relief door. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
(8) Apply the adhesive (Material No.V08-021) or the adhesive (Material No.V08-104) to the faying surfaces of the rub strips and the pressure relief door.
(9) Hold the new rub strips in place with the C-CLAMP - LARGE or a similar device until the adhesive has fully cured.
NOTE: Cure the adhesive at room temperature. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
