4. Procedure
Subtask 78-32-51-820-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Adjust the Forward Hold-Open Rod
   (1) Close the hydraulic hand-pump valve and operate the hand pump to remove the load from the hold-open rods.
   (2) Loosen the locknut (1) on the forward rod (6) and turn the threaded part of the rod with a wrench at the wrench flats (4) to adjust the length of the rod.
   (3) Hook the hold-open rod (3) to the hold-open rod fitting (2). Make sure the hold-open rod fully engages in the fitting.
   (4) With the two hold-open rods engaged, open the hand pump valve to let the thrust reverser half close slowly until the hold-open rods hold the weight of the thrust reverser half.
   (5) Adjust the length of the forward hold-open rod until the rod starts to take the weight of the thrust reverser half, then lengthen the rod by two full turns.
   (6) Make sure that the rod threads can be seen in the thread engagement witness hole (5).
   (7) Tighten the locknut (1).
   (8) Close the hand pump valve and operate the hand pump until the thrust reverser half reaches the fully open position.
   (9) Open the hand pump valve to let the thrust reverser half close slowly until the hold-open rods hold the weight of the thrust reverser half.
5. Close-up
