C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
Subtask 78-32-00-010-122-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Removal of sleeve access panels
(1) Remove the upper and lower translating sleeve access panels for the applicable thrust reverser (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-34-000-802) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-64-000-802).
4. Procedure(1) Remove the upper and lower translating sleeve access panels for the applicable thrust reverser (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-34-000-802) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-64-000-802).
CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 78-32-00-210-090-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Detailed Visual Inspection of Thrust Reverser, Actuator Fittings and Attachment to Translating Sleeves
(1) Do not discard a part until you are sure there are no repairs available. If you reject a part and no repair is available, contact United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS) for disposition.
(2) Clean the inspection area with a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) to remove unwanted debris, dirt and grease.
(3) Do a detailed inspection of the upper and lower translating sleeve fittings and attaching hardware to the translating sleeve. Use the FLASHLIGHT, MIRROR - INSPECTION, MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X.
(a) Examine the upper and lower translating sleeve fittings.
1 Look for gouges, nicks, scratches, deterioration of protection and other damage.
2 If you find damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual for allowable damage limits and repair procedures or contact UTAS for disposition.
(b) Examine the flanged bushing and nutplate on the translating sleeve fittings.
1 Look for gouges, nicks, scratches, deterioration of protection and other damage.
2 If you find damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual for allowable damage limits and repair procedures or contact UTAS for disposition.
5. Close-up(1) Do not discard a part until you are sure there are no repairs available. If you reject a part and no repair is available, contact United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS) for disposition.
