A. Installation of the Left Translating Sleeve Access Panel (451CL) (1), (461CL) (3), (451BL) (461BL) (4)
   (1) Examine the sealant on the mating surfaces of the translating sleeve which the access panel (1), (3) or (4) attaches to. Look for damaged or missing sealant. If you find damaged or missing sealant, replace the sealant:
     (a) Remove the sealant from the mating surfaces of the translating sleeve with the SPATULA - PLASTIC or equivalent.
     (b) Clean the mating surfaces with a clean cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) and the PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl. Remove the PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl with a clean cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) before it dries.
     (c) Application of the release agent:
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE RELEASE AGENT DOES NOT GET ON OTHER AREAS OF THE THRUST REVERSER DOOR. APPLY THE RELEASE AGENT AWAY FROM THE DOOR OR PUT MASKING TAPE ON THE ADJACENT AREAS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, DAMAGE TO THE OTHER SURFACES CAN OCCUR.
1 Apply two layers of the release agent (Material No.PU5-0004) or alternate release agent (Material No.PU5-0004A) or alternate release agent (Material No.PU5-0004B) on the mating surfaces of the access panel (1), (3) or (4). Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
2 Apply two layers of the release agent (Material No.PU5-0004) or alternate on the shanks of the bolts (2). Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
3 Let the release agent (Material No.PU5-0004) or alternate fully dry. Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
     (d) Apply a layer of the PR-2001 rapid cure fuel tank sealant (Material No.PU3-0005) or alternate sealant (Material No.PU3-0005A) or alternate sealant (Material No.PU3-0005B) on the mating surfaces of the translating sleeve. Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
1 Make sure that the PR-2001 rapid cure fuel tank sealant (Material No.PU3-0005) or alternate is between minus 0.01 in. (0.25 mm) and 0.00 in. (0.00 mm) flush with its adjacent surfaces.
2 Make sure that the PR-2001 rapid cure fuel tank sealant (Material No.PU3-0005) or alternate does not block the fastener holes when you install the access panel (1), (3) or (4).
     (e) Install the access panel (1), (3) or (4) on the translating sleeve with the four bolts (2).
     (f) TORQUE the bolts (2) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN ) T.
     (g) Clean the unwanted the PR-2001 rapid cure fuel tank sealant (Material No.
PU3-0005) or alternate from the surface of the translating sleeve with a clean cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) and the PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl. Do not clean the PR-2001 rapid cure fuel tank sealant (Material No.PU3-0005) or alternate, or release agent (Material No.PU5-0004) or alternate, from below the access panel (1), (3) or (4).
     (h) Let PR-2001 rapid cure fuel tank sealant (Material No.PU3-0005) or alternate fully dry. Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
     (i) Remove the four bolts (2) and the access panel (1), (3) or (4).
     (j) Make sure that the PR-2001 rapid cure fuel tank sealant (Material No.PU3-0005) or alternate makes a smooth, even surface. If you find any holes in the PR-2001 rapid cure fuel tank sealant (Material No.PU3-0005) or alternate, fill the hole with the PR-2001 rapid cure fuel tank sealant (Material No.PU3-0005) or alternate and do again steps 4.A.(1)(d) thru 4.A.(1)(k).
     (k) Make sure that the space between the sealant and the edges of the access panel (1), (3) or (4) is less than 0.01 in. (0.25 mm).
     (l) Let the PR-2001 rapid cure fuel tank sealant (Material No.PU3-0005) or alternate fully dry. Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
   (2) Mix the PU4-0002epoxy primer, fluid resistant, PU4-0004Acuring solution, epoxy primer and thinner (Material No.PU4-0005) or alternate thinner (Material No.PU4-0008) . Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
Or alternate, mix the base primer (Material No.PU4-0002C) , PU4-0004Acuring solution, epoxy primer and thinner (Material No.PU4-0005) or alternate thinner (Material No.PU4-0008) . Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
Or alternate, mix the base primer (Material No.PU4-0002D) and the curing solution (Material No.PU4-0009) . Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
Or alternate, mix the base primer (Material No.PU4-0002E) and the converter (Material No.PU4-0007) . Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
   (3) Apply the PU4-0002epoxy primer, fluid resistant or alternate mixture on the shanks of the bolts (2).
   (4) Make sure that you install the bolts (2) while the primer is wet.
   (5) Install the access panel (1), (3) or (4) on the translating sleeve with the four bolts (2).
