(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
Subtask 78-32-00-010-116-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL 4. ProcedureWARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 78-32-00-210-082-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Detailed Visual Inspection of the Primary Track Liners and Track Sliders
(1) Do not discard a part until you are sure there are no repairs available. If you reject a part and no repair is available, contact United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS) for disposition.
(2) Clean the inspection area with a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) to remove unwanted debris, dirt and grease.
(3) Do a detailed visual inspection of the primary track liners and track sliders. Use a LIGHT SOURCE - INSPECTION and MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X.
(a) Examine the primary and auxiliary tracks.
1 Look for damage.
2 If you find damage, contact UTAS for disposition.
(b) Examine the primary and auxiliary tracks liners.
1 Look for worn or missing protective coating and other damage.
2 If you find damage, contact UTAS for disposition.
(c) Examine the primary and auxiliary tracks sliders.
1 Look for incorrect attachment, wear and other damage.
5. Close-up(1) Do not discard a part until you are sure there are no repairs available. If you reject a part and no repair is available, contact United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS) for disposition.

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Manually retract the translating sleeves (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-802).
