Installation of the Lower Inhibit Lever Cable

B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 78-31-06-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Installation of the Lower Inhibit Lever Cable
(2) Make sure the lower inhibit cable handle assembly (1) is in the correct position.
(3) Install the handle of the lower inhibit cable handle assembly (1) on the handle bracket on the fan case with the four bolts (5) and washers (6).
(4) Put a layer of sealant (Material No.PU3-0004) around the edge of the holes for the bolts (5).
(5) TORQUE the bolts to between 35 and 31.5 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.36 m.daN )
.
(6) Attach the lower inhibit cable handle assembly (1) to the three brackets on the fan case.
(a) Put the three clamps (4) on tape marker with tape marked "INSTL REF" on the lower inhibit cable handle assembly (1).
(c) Use the six bolts (2),the six washers (3) and the three clamps (4) to attach the lower inhibit cable handle assembly (1) to the bracket on the fan case.
(a) Move the quick release sleeve on the lower inhibit cable handle assembly (1) back and turn to lock in position.
(b) Engage the lower inhibit cable handle assembly into the upper inhibit cable connector.
(c) Engage the two guides on the lower inhibit cable handle assembly.
2 Make sure that the quick release sleeve touches the upper inhibit cable or there is only a very small distance between them.
(e) If the lower inhibit cable handle assembly (1) and the upper inhibit cable are not engaged correctly, adjust the lower inhibit cable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-06-820-801).
(8) Adjustment of the cable.
(b) TORQUE the six bolts (2) to between 35 and 31.5 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.36 m.daN )
.
(9) Do an operational test of the thrust reverser with the MCDU (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-805).
(a) Make sure that the system operates correctly and the indication in the cockpit is correct.
5. Close-upWARNING:

(1) Removal of protection covers. CAUTION:
REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
(a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine. (2) Make sure the lower inhibit cable handle assembly (1) is in the correct position.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE LOCKING PIN IS CORRECTLY ENGAGED. IF THE LOCKING PIN IS NOT CORRECTLY ENGAGED, INCORRECT INSTALLATION AND OPERATION CAN OCCUR.
(a) Make sure the lower inhibit cable handle assembly (1) is in the inhibited position. (3) Install the handle of the lower inhibit cable handle assembly (1) on the handle bracket on the fan case with the four bolts (5) and washers (6).
(4) Put a layer of sealant (Material No.PU3-0004) around the edge of the holes for the bolts (5).
(5) TORQUE the bolts to between 35 and 31.5 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.36 m.daN )
. (6) Attach the lower inhibit cable handle assembly (1) to the three brackets on the fan case.
(a) Put the three clamps (4) on tape marker with tape marked "INSTL REF" on the lower inhibit cable handle assembly (1).
NOTE: Make sure that the clamps (4) are in the center of the INSTL REF tape.
(b) Install the three clamps (4) and the lower inhibit cable handle assembly (1) on the brackets on the fan case. (c) Use the six bolts (2),the six washers (3) and the three clamps (4) to attach the lower inhibit cable handle assembly (1) to the bracket on the fan case.
- Do not torque the bolts (2) at this time.
(a) Move the quick release sleeve on the lower inhibit cable handle assembly (1) back and turn to lock in position.
(b) Engage the lower inhibit cable handle assembly into the upper inhibit cable connector.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THE LOWER INHIBIT CABLE HANDLE ASSEMBLY AND THE UPPER INHIBIT CABLE ENGAGE CORRECTLY. IF THE LOWER INHIBIT CABLE HANDLE ASSEMBLY AND THE UPPER INHIBIT CABLE ARE NOT ENGAGED CORRECTLY, THE SYSTEM CAN OPERATE INCORRECTLY.
1 Engage the lower inhibit cable handle assembly (1) connector and upper inhibit cable connector. (c) Engage the two guides on the lower inhibit cable handle assembly.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU CAN EASILY ENGAGE THE TWO GUIDES ON THE LOWER INHIBIT CABLE ASSEMBLY IN THE INTERFACE GROOVE ON THE UPPER INHIBIT CABLE. IF THE GUIDES AND THE INTERFACE GROOVE ARE NOT ENGAGED CORRECTLY, THE SYSTEM CAN OPERATE INCORRECTLY.
1 Engage the two guides on the lower inhibit cable handle assembly (1) to the interface groove on the upper inhibit cable. - If you cannot do this, adjust the lower inhibit cable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-06-820-801).
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU CAN EASILY CLOSE THE QUICK-RELEASE SLEEVE. IF YOU USE FORCE TO PUSH OR PULL THE QUICK-RELEASE SLEEVE, DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENT CAN OCCUR AND THE SYSTEM CAN OPERATE INCORRECTLY.
1 Turn the quick release sleeve on the lower inhibit cable handle assembly (1) to unlock and move it up to close. 2 Make sure that the quick release sleeve touches the upper inhibit cable or there is only a very small distance between them.
(e) If the lower inhibit cable handle assembly (1) and the upper inhibit cable are not engaged correctly, adjust the lower inhibit cable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-06-820-801).
(8) Adjustment of the cable.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THE CABLE BEND RADIUS IS MORE THAN 3.5 IN. (88.9 MM). IF YOU NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
(a) If necessary, adjust the cable so that there is no load on the cable. (b) TORQUE the six bolts (2) to between 35 and 31.5 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.36 m.daN )
. (9) Do an operational test of the thrust reverser with the MCDU (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-805).
(a) Make sure that the system operates correctly and the indication in the cockpit is correct.

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-802):
