Removal of the Thrust Reverser Actuation System (TRAS) Filter Module

(1) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the applicable system.
(a) On the HYD/FUEL panel 40VU of the overhead panel
(b) On the ground service panel of the applicable hydraulic system.

(a) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
(b) Depressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
Subtask 78-31-02-010-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Get Access
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
(2) Remove the access panel on the pylon (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-804):

4. Procedure(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.

A. Removal of the TRAS Filter Module
(a) Put lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) below the inlet tube to the filter module (1) to collect hydraulic fluid that possibly can spill.
(b) Disconnect the inlet tube from the filter module (1).
(2) Drain the outlet tube
(a) Put lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) below the outlet tube to the filter module (1) to collect hydraulic fluid that possibly can spill.
(b) Disconnect the outlet tube from the filter module (1).
(3) Remove the TRAS Filter Module
(a) Remove the four bolts (2), four washers (3) and four nuts (4) that attach the filter module (1) to the filter bracket on the pylon.
(b) Remove the filter module (1) from the pylon.
(4) Installation of the protection covers
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
WARNING:
YOU MUST NOT GET HYDRAULIC FLUID ON YOUR SKIN, IN YOUR EYES OR IN YOUR MOUTH. THE HYDRAULIC FLUID IS POISONOUS AND CAN BE ABSORBED INTO YOUR BODY. IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY GET HYDRAULIC FLUID IN YOUR EYES, MOUTH OR ON YOUR SKIN, FLUSH WITH WATER AND GET MEDICAL AID.
CAUTION:
YOU MUST NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT- FREE CLOTH. THE HYDRAULIC FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND SOME PARTS.
(1) Drain the inlet tube (a) Put lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) below the inlet tube to the filter module (1) to collect hydraulic fluid that possibly can spill.
(b) Disconnect the inlet tube from the filter module (1).
(2) Drain the outlet tube
(a) Put lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) below the outlet tube to the filter module (1) to collect hydraulic fluid that possibly can spill.
(b) Disconnect the outlet tube from the filter module (1).
(3) Remove the TRAS Filter Module
(a) Remove the four bolts (2), four washers (3) and four nuts (4) that attach the filter module (1) to the filter bracket on the pylon.
(b) Remove the filter module (1) from the pylon.
(4) Installation of the protection covers
CAUTION:
INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
