1. Reason for the Job
This task is for A5 basic (non SelectOne) engines and A5 SelectOne retrofit engines, which have not SBE 72-0564 incorporated.
The installation procedure given here is for the installation of one or some of the VSV actuating levers.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010)

   (2) Make sure that the thrust reverser doors are open: (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-010-010)

C. Make sure that the thrust reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) is deactivated: (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012)
4. Procedure
Subtask 75-32-42-420-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Install the Variable Stator Vane (VSV) actuating levers:
   (1) For the Variable Inlet Guide Vane (VIGV):
     (a) For PRE SB 72-0486, refer to Step B.
     (b) For POST SB 72-0486, refer to Step C.
   (2) For stages 3, 4 and 5, refer to Step B.

B. Installation of the Stage 3, 4 and 5 VSV Actuating Lever(s) Including PRE SB 72-0486 VIGV Actuating Lever(s)
F VSV Actuating Levers ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Make sure that the spacers (3) or (9) are in position on the vane spindle.
   (2) Put the actuating lever (2) or (8) into position on the vane spindle.
   (3) Install the nut (1) or (7).
   (4) TORQUE the nut (1) or (7) to between 105 and 85 lbf.in (1.19 and 0.96 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
   (5) If other parts were removed during removal, continue to Step D.

C. Installation of the VIGV actuating lever(s) POST SB 72-0486
F VSV Actuating Levers ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Make sure that the spacers (3) are in position on the vane spindle.
   (2) Put the actuating lever (2) into position on the vane spindle.
   (3) Install the bolt (1).
   (4) TORQUE the bolt (1) to between 105 and 85 lbf.in (1.19 and 0.96 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
   (5) If other parts were removed during the removal, continue to Step D.

D. Installation of the unison ring connector, if removed.
   (1) Put the connector (4) into position on the unison ring.
   (2) Install the four dowels (5).
   (3) Install the four bolts (6).
   (4) TORQUE the bolts (6) to between 105 and 85 lbf.in (1.19 and 0.96 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).

E. Check the installation of the left and right hand unison ring connectors SBE 72-0400
   (1) Do this check after each time the connectors are installed (Ref. AMM TASK 75-32-42-400-013).
