A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.

B. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):

   (2) Make sure that the right thrust reverser half is open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-010-010):

C. Make sure that the thrust reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) is deactivated (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012).
4. Procedure
Subtask 75-24-52-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Fittings
F HPT/LPT Valve Actuator ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
NOTE: Do the following steps if the fittings do not exist on the HPT/LPT valve actuator
   (1) Install the new AIPC 75-24-52-80-180 PACKING (29) on the drain fitting (27) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-13-911-010).
   (2) Install the drain fitting (27) in the actuator drain hole.
   (3) TORQUE the drain fitting (27) to between 150 and 130 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.47 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
   (4) Install the new AIPC 75-24-52-80-160 PACKING (26) on the return fitting (24) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-13-911-010).
   (5) Install the return fitting (24) in the actuator pressure hole.
   (6) TORQUE the return fitting (24) to between 200 and 180 lbf.in (2.26 and 2.03 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
   (7) Install the new AIPC 75-24-52-80-140 PACKING (23) on the pressure fitting (25) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-13-911-010).
   (8) Install the pressure fitting (25) in the actuator return hole.
   (9) TORQUE the pressure fitting (25) to between 230 and 210 lbf.in (2.60 and 2.37 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
   (10) Safety the return fitting (24) to the pressure fitting (25) with lockwire (Material No.V02-126) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014).
   (11) Safety the drain fitting (27) to the HPT/LPT valve actuator (1) with lockwire (Material No.V02-126) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014).
   (12) Install the insulation blanket on the HPT/LPT valve actuator

NOTE: Do the following steps if the insulation blanket does not exist on the HPT/LPT valve actuator.
     (a) Install the insulation blanket (20) on the HPT/LPT valve actuator (1).
     (b) Safety the insulation blanket (20) with lockwire (Material No.V02-126) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014).

B. Installation of the HPT/LPT Valve Actuator
F HPT/LPT Valve Actuator ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Carefully install the HPT/LPT valve actuator (1) on the actuator front bracket (21) and the actuator rear bracket (33).
   (2) Loosely install the two bolts (28) and the two nuts (22) to fix the position of the HPT/LPT valve actuator.
   (3) TORQUE the bolts (28) to between 105 and 85 lbf.in (1.19 and 0.96 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
   (4) TORQUE the nuts (22) to between 105 and 85 lbf.in (1.19 and 0.96 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
Subtask 75-24-52-420-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
C. Installation of the Bush in the HPT/LPT Valve Actuator
F HPT/LPT Valve Actuator ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Decrease the temperature of the bush (18) for 15 minutes with dry ice.
   (2) Put the stator rod assembly (15) between the holes of the HPT/LPT valve actuator (1).
   (3) Install the bush (18) in the HPT/LPT valve actuator clevis.
NOTE: If the installation of the bushes is not easy, increase the temperature of the HPT/LPT valve actuator clevis to 140 deg.F (60 deg.C) with a drier.
   (4) Make sure that each bush touches the bearing ball.

D. Connection of the Stator Rod Assembly
F HPT/LPT Valve Actuator ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Align the holes of the HPT/LPT valve actuator (1) and the stator rod assembly (15).
   (2) Install the bolt (7) and the nut (17).
   (3) TORQUE the nut (17) to between 42.5 and 32.5 lbf.in (0.48 and 0.37 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
   (4) Safety the nut (17) with a new AIPC 75-24-52-80-010 PIN (16) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014).

E. Connection of the Actuator Rod Assembly

NOTE: Before the actuator rod assembly (11) is connected:
F HPT/LPT Valve Actuator ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
It is very important that the bolt (10) and the nut (13) are assembled in the correct positions to prevent damage to the HPT/LPT valve actuator (1).
   (1) Align the holes of the rod end of the HPT/LPT valve actuator and the actuator rod assembly (11). Install the two bushes (9) and (14), the bolt (10) and the nut (13).
   (2) TORQUE the nut (13) to between 30 and 22.5 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.25 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
   (3) Safety the nut with a new AIPC 75-24-52-80-010 PIN (12) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014).

F. Connection of the Tubes and Harness
   (1) Connect the fuel tube.
F HPT/LPT Valve Actuator ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
F HPT/LPT Valve Actuator ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
     (a) Install the new AIPC 75-24-52-80-100 PACKING (5) on the return fitting (24).
     (b) Connect the fuel tube (4) to the HPT/LPT valve actuator (1).
     (c) TORQUE the union nut to between 360 and 330 lbf.in (4.07 and 3.73 m.daN )
T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
   (2) Connect the drain tube.
F HPT/LPT Valve Actuator ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
     (a) Connect the fuel drain tube (6) to the HPT/LPT valve actuator (1).
     (b) TORQUE the union nut to between 212 and 195 lbf.in (2.40 and 2.20 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
   (3) Connect the fuel tube.

     (a) Install the new AIPC 75-24-52-80-090 PACKING (2) on the pressure fitting (25).
     (b) Connect the fuel tube (3) to the HPT/LPT valve actuator (1).
     (c) TORQUE the union nut to between 475 and 425 lbf.in (5.37 and 4.80 m.daN )
T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
   (4) Connect the harness core wiring (19) to the HPT/LPT valve actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-15-912-010) and
F HPT/LPT Valve Actuator ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

G. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the right thrust reverser half (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-410-010):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

H. Activate the thrust reverser HCU (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-440-012).

I. Do the Leak Test
   (1) Do an Idle Leak Check (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-012) or:
NOTE: A dry motor leak check (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-045) may be used to check for leaks, but this must be followed by an idle leak check (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-012).
   (2) Do an operational test of the FADEC (Ref. AMM TASK 73-22-00-710-040) and make sure that, on CFDS, no faults related to the HPT/LPT valve actuator are shown.
