A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 75-31-05-010-050-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
Subtask 75-31-05-010-051-A WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-809). D. Open the left thrust-reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):

A. Removal of the Left Variable Bleed Valve (VBV) Actuator
(2) Remove hose clamp (62) that secures the VBV duct (61) to the air duct (63) and remove the VBV duct (61).
(3) Disconnect the electrical connector (53) from the left VBV actuator (51) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804).
(4) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the VBV-VSV fuel-hydraulic manifold (55).
(5) Remove the four bolts (54) that attach the VBV-VSV fuel-hydraulic manifold (55) to the left VBV actuator (51).
(6) Remove and discard the gasket seal (52).
(7) Remove the grounding strap bolt (59) that attaches the grounding strap (60) to left VBV actuator (51).
(8) Remove the three captive bolts (56) that attach the left VBV actuator (51) to the fan hub frame (1).
(9) Move the left VBV actuator (51) away from the fan hub frame (1) a sufficient distance to remove the bolt (57).
(10) Remove the bolt (57) that attaches the left VBV actuator (51) to the actuator turnbuckle clevis (58) and remove the left VBV actuator (51) from the engine.
(11) Install COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION on all the open ports, open tubes, open hoses and the disconnected connectors.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL NOT TO GET AIRCRAFT FUEL IN YOUR MOUTH OR IN YOUR EYES.
IF YOU GET FUEL ON YOUR SKIN OR ON YOUR CLOTHES, FLUSH IT IMMEDIATELY WITH WATER.
IF NECESSARY, GET MEDICAL HELP.
AIRCRAFT FUEL IS POISONOUS.
(1) Remove segment shroud 5 (Ref. AMM TASK 72-24-01-000-801). (2) Remove hose clamp (62) that secures the VBV duct (61) to the air duct (63) and remove the VBV duct (61).
(3) Disconnect the electrical connector (53) from the left VBV actuator (51) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804).
(4) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the VBV-VSV fuel-hydraulic manifold (55).
(5) Remove the four bolts (54) that attach the VBV-VSV fuel-hydraulic manifold (55) to the left VBV actuator (51).
(6) Remove and discard the gasket seal (52).
(7) Remove the grounding strap bolt (59) that attaches the grounding strap (60) to left VBV actuator (51).
(8) Remove the three captive bolts (56) that attach the left VBV actuator (51) to the fan hub frame (1).
(9) Move the left VBV actuator (51) away from the fan hub frame (1) a sufficient distance to remove the bolt (57).
(10) Remove the bolt (57) that attaches the left VBV actuator (51) to the actuator turnbuckle clevis (58) and remove the left VBV actuator (51) from the engine.
(11) Install COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION on all the open ports, open tubes, open hoses and the disconnected connectors.
