Removal of the Electronic Engine Control (EEC) Wiring Harness (W04)
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE AFTER SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE CAN STAY HOT FOR A LONG TIME. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, INJURY CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION:
DO NOT BEND OR TWIST THE HARNESS TOO MUCH. IF YOU DO, DAMAGE TO THE HARNESS CAN OCCUR.

D. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
Subtask 73-21-64-010-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). E. Get Access
(1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

4. Procedure(1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 73-21-64-020-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Removal of the Electronic Engine Control (EEC) Wiring Harness (W04)
(1) Find the harness (W04) (1) attached to the right side of the fan case and to the left and right sides of the engine core.
(2) Remove the harness (W04) (1) from the engine as follows:
(a) Disconnect the harness (W04) (1) connectors from the engine with the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT as follows:
1 Disconnect the connector (P102) from the harness (WF02) receptacle (J102).
2 Disconnect the connector (P3), (P5) and (P13) from the EEC.
3 Disconnect the connector (P17) from the nacelle anti-ice P2 sensor.
4 Disconnect the connector (P67) from the exciter box.
5 Disconnect the nacelle anti-ice temperature sensor harness connector (P55) from the harness (W04) (1).
6 Disconnect the harness (W03) connectors (P106) and (P107) from the harness (W04) (1).
7 Disconnect the connector (P63) from the N2 probe.
8 Disconnect the connector (P69) from the buffer air valve pressure sensor receptacle (J56).
9 Disconnect the connector (P47) from the N1 speed probe.
10 Disconnect the connector (P58) from the nacelle anti-ice valve solenoid (upper).
11 Disconnect the connector (P45) from the P2.5/T2.5 probe.
12 Disconnect the connector (P44) from the fan speed probe.
13 Disconnect the harness (WC08) connectors (P108) and (P109) from the harness (W04) (1).
14 Disconnect the connector (P11) from the Permanent Magnet Alternator (PMA).
15 Disconnect the harness (WC11) connector (P105) from the harness (W04) (1).
16 Disconnect the connector (P19) from the Low Pressure Compressor (LPC) Stator Vane Actuator (SVA).
17 Disconnect the connector (P28) from the LPC (2.5) bleed valve actuator.
(b) Remove the four bolts (2) and the harness (W04) (1) from the brackets.
(c) Remove the two bolts (2) and the harness (W04) (1) from the bracket.
(d) Remove the bolt (39) from the aft side of the upper bracket.
(e) Remove the bolt (2) and harness (W04) (1) from the bracket.
(f) Remove the bolt (12) from the brackets (13) and (15), and disengage the harness (W04) (1) from the block clamp (14).
(g) Remove the bolt (12) from the brackets (16) and (18), and disengage the harness (W04) (1) from the block clamp (17) at two locations.
(h) Disassemble the lower bifi as necessary to remove the harness (W04) (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-11-000-801).
(i) Remove the harness (W04) (1) from the 33 spring clips.
(j) Remove the two tie wraps (3) from the harness (W04) (1).
1 Discard the tie wraps (3).
(k) Remove the harness (W04) (1) from the engine.
(3) Installation of the protection covers
(1) Find the harness (W04) (1) attached to the right side of the fan case and to the left and right sides of the engine core.
(2) Remove the harness (W04) (1) from the engine as follows:
(a) Disconnect the harness (W04) (1) connectors from the engine with the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT as follows:
1 Disconnect the connector (P102) from the harness (WF02) receptacle (J102).
2 Disconnect the connector (P3), (P5) and (P13) from the EEC.
3 Disconnect the connector (P17) from the nacelle anti-ice P2 sensor.
4 Disconnect the connector (P67) from the exciter box.
5 Disconnect the nacelle anti-ice temperature sensor harness connector (P55) from the harness (W04) (1).
6 Disconnect the harness (W03) connectors (P106) and (P107) from the harness (W04) (1).
7 Disconnect the connector (P63) from the N2 probe.
8 Disconnect the connector (P69) from the buffer air valve pressure sensor receptacle (J56).
9 Disconnect the connector (P47) from the N1 speed probe.
10 Disconnect the connector (P58) from the nacelle anti-ice valve solenoid (upper).
11 Disconnect the connector (P45) from the P2.5/T2.5 probe.
12 Disconnect the connector (P44) from the fan speed probe.
13 Disconnect the harness (WC08) connectors (P108) and (P109) from the harness (W04) (1).
14 Disconnect the connector (P11) from the Permanent Magnet Alternator (PMA).
15 Disconnect the harness (WC11) connector (P105) from the harness (W04) (1).
16 Disconnect the connector (P19) from the Low Pressure Compressor (LPC) Stator Vane Actuator (SVA).
17 Disconnect the connector (P28) from the LPC (2.5) bleed valve actuator.
(b) Remove the four bolts (2) and the harness (W04) (1) from the brackets.
(c) Remove the two bolts (2) and the harness (W04) (1) from the bracket.
(d) Remove the bolt (39) from the aft side of the upper bracket.
(e) Remove the bolt (2) and harness (W04) (1) from the bracket.
(f) Remove the bolt (12) from the brackets (13) and (15), and disengage the harness (W04) (1) from the block clamp (14).
(g) Remove the bolt (12) from the brackets (16) and (18), and disengage the harness (W04) (1) from the block clamp (17) at two locations.
(h) Disassemble the lower bifi as necessary to remove the harness (W04) (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-11-000-801).
(i) Remove the harness (W04) (1) from the 33 spring clips.
(j) Remove the two tie wraps (3) from the harness (W04) (1).
1 Discard the tie wraps (3).
(k) Remove the harness (W04) (1) from the engine.
(3) Installation of the protection covers
CAUTION:
INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(a) Make sure that you install the COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
