Installation of the HJ4B Engine Wiring Harness
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

Subtask 73-21-60-941-066-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 73-21-60-010-069-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.
Subtask 73-21-60-420-062-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the HJ4B Engine Wiring Harness
(1) Remove all the COVER - PROTECTION and the CAP - PROTECTION from the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
(2) Make sure that the mating faces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
(3) Install the HJ4B engine wiring harness (5) in the correct position in the seven clips (29) along its routing.
(a) Attach the bobbin (28) to the clip located on the support bracket (25).
(b) Attach the harness in the clips at the remaining six positions along the fan case.
(b) Install the two bolts (14) to attach the electrical connector (21) on the bracket (19) and tighten them with your hand.
(c) TORQUE the two bolts (14) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in )

(d) Connect the electrical connector (18) in the correct position on the bracket (19).
(e) Install the two bolts (13) to attach the electrical connector (18) on the bracket (19) and tighten them with your hand.
(f) TORQUE the two bolts (13) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in )

(g) Connect the HJ4B engine wiring harness (5) connector 407 to the pylon receptacle (1) (at the 12 o'clock position).
(h) Connect the HJ4B engine wiring harness (5) connector P4B to the EEC channel B J4 receptacle (at the 3 o'clock position).
(i) Put the P-clamp (4) in position on the HJ4B engine wiring harness (5).
1 Install the bolt (3) that attaches the P-clamp (4) to the support bracket (2).
2 TORQUE the bolt (3) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in )

(j) Put the P-clamp (9) in position on the HJ4B engine wiring harness (5).
1 Install the bolt (8) that attaches the P-clamp (9) to the support bracket (11).
2 TORQUE the bolt (8) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in )
.
(k) Install the HJ4B engine wiring harness (5) in the correct position in the clip located on the support bracket (11).
(l) Tighten the electrical harness connectors until you cannot see the color marks on the receptacles.
(m) Make sure that the electrical harness connectors do not move after you fully engage them.
5. Close-up(1) Remove all the COVER - PROTECTION and the CAP - PROTECTION from the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
(2) Make sure that the mating faces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
(3) Install the HJ4B engine wiring harness (5) in the correct position in the seven clips (29) along its routing.
(a) Attach the bobbin (28) to the clip located on the support bracket (25).
(b) Attach the harness in the clips at the remaining six positions along the fan case.
CAUTION:
YOU MUST NOT USE PLIERS WITH METAL JAWS TO TIGHTEN OR LOOSEN THE CONNECTOR. THE METAL JAWS WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CONNECTOR.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(4) Connection of the HJ4B engine wiring harness (5) connectors to the receptacles (Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804): NOTE: Only if necessary, use PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to connect the electrical connectors.
(a) Connect the electrical connector (21) in the correct position on the bracket (19). (b) Install the two bolts (14) to attach the electrical connector (21) on the bracket (19) and tighten them with your hand.
(c) TORQUE the two bolts (14) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in )
. (d) Connect the electrical connector (18) in the correct position on the bracket (19).
(e) Install the two bolts (13) to attach the electrical connector (18) on the bracket (19) and tighten them with your hand.
(f) TORQUE the two bolts (13) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in )
. (g) Connect the HJ4B engine wiring harness (5) connector 407 to the pylon receptacle (1) (at the 12 o'clock position).
(h) Connect the HJ4B engine wiring harness (5) connector P4B to the EEC channel B J4 receptacle (at the 3 o'clock position).
(i) Put the P-clamp (4) in position on the HJ4B engine wiring harness (5).
1 Install the bolt (3) that attaches the P-clamp (4) to the support bracket (2).
2 TORQUE the bolt (3) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in )
. (j) Put the P-clamp (9) in position on the HJ4B engine wiring harness (5).
1 Install the bolt (8) that attaches the P-clamp (9) to the support bracket (11).
2 TORQUE the bolt (8) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in )
. (k) Install the HJ4B engine wiring harness (5) in the correct position in the clip located on the support bracket (11).
(l) Tighten the electrical harness connectors until you cannot see the color marks on the receptacles.
(m) Make sure that the electrical harness connectors do not move after you fully engage them.

B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)
