Programming of the Data Entry Plug (DEP)
To reprogram the Data Entry Plug (DEP) N1 trim level, engine hardware configuration by configuring push/pull pins. The DEP is installed on the Pressure Subsystem (PSS) below the EECs. The DEP push/pull pins are protected by a cover via a lanyard installed on the fan case. The DEP's intended information is encoded via preprogrammed fusible links and programmable push/pull pins. The DEP engine rated thrust cannot be reprogrammed.

(2) Remove the data entry plug (1) from the Pressure Sub System (PSS).
(3) Install a COVER - PROTECTION on the top of the DEP.
4. Procedure
Subtask 73-21-50-860-100-A
(a) Do the steps that follow to program the N1 trim configuration:
1 Locate the N1 trim level on the engine data plate.
3 Install the affected push-pull pins according to the N1 trim pin configuration table (Table 1) using straight points TWEEZER. Refer to the figure
(b) Do these steps to program the engine hardware, if necessary.
1 Locate the engine hardware configuration on the engine data plate.
2 Locate the affected push-pull pins.
3 Install the affected push-pull pins according to the hardware configuration DEP pin configurations table (Table 2) using straight points TWEEZER. Refer to the figure
(2) Remove the COVER - PROTECTION from the top of the DEP and install the DEP (1) on the PSS.
(3) Install the cover (2) on the DEP. If necessary, use PLIERS - CONNECTOR, JAW, SOFT.

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

1. Reason for the JobTo reprogram the Data Entry Plug (DEP) N1 trim level, engine hardware configuration by configuring push/pull pins. The DEP is installed on the Pressure Subsystem (PSS) below the EECs. The DEP push/pull pins are protected by a cover via a lanyard installed on the fan case. The DEP's intended information is encoded via preprogrammed fusible links and programmable push/pull pins. The DEP engine rated thrust cannot be reprogrammed.
NOTE: Replacement preprogrammed DEPs must match the engine data plate's rated thrust and hardware configuration of the aircraft and the opposite engine.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
NOTE: The access platform is only required to read the Engine Data Plate located on the left side of fan frame.
CAUTION:
DO NOT REMOVE THE COVER FROM THE ENGINE. FIRST YOU MUST REMOVE THE COVER FROM THE DATA ENTRY PLUG, THEN YOU MUST REMOVE THE DATA ENTRY PLUG FROM THE PRESSURE SUBSYSTEM.
C. Removal of the data entry plug from the Pressure Sub System (PSS). NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the data entry plug to verify "push"-"pull" pin configurations. When the cover (2) is removed from the data entry plug the pins are exposed.
(1) Remove the cover (2) retained by the lanyard (3) from the data entry plug (1). (2) Remove the data entry plug (1) from the Pressure Sub System (PSS).
(3) Install a COVER - PROTECTION on the top of the DEP.

CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PROTECTIVE COVER IS INSTALLED ON THE TOP OF THE DATA ENTRY PLUG DURING HANDLING. THE COVER PROTECTS SENSITIVE PROGRAMMING SWITCHES. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PRECAUTION, DAMAGE TO THE DATA ENTRY PLUG CAN OCCUR.
A. Programming of the Data Entry Plug (DEP) NOTE: Put a COVER - PROTECTION on the data entry plug, as necessary, for handling.
(1) Program the DEP to the necessary configuration. (a) Do the steps that follow to program the N1 trim configuration:
1 Locate the N1 trim level on the engine data plate.
NOTE: The Engine Data Plate is located on the right side of the fan frame.
2 Locate the affected push-pull pins. 3 Install the affected push-pull pins according to the N1 trim pin configuration table (Table 1) using straight points TWEEZER. Refer to the figure
(b) Do these steps to program the engine hardware, if necessary.
1 Locate the engine hardware configuration on the engine data plate.
2 Locate the affected push-pull pins.
3 Install the affected push-pull pins according to the hardware configuration DEP pin configurations table (Table 2) using straight points TWEEZER. Refer to the figure
(2) Remove the COVER - PROTECTION from the top of the DEP and install the DEP (1) on the PSS.
(3) Install the cover (2) on the DEP. If necessary, use PLIERS - CONNECTOR, JAW, SOFT.
B. Test Requirements
(a) Get access to the screen of the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST ENG (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-012).
(b) Push the line key adjacent to the FADEC1(2) A(B): The ENGINE MAIN MENU page comes into view.
(c) Do the FADEC test (menu mode) on Channel A or Channel B, one Channel only (Ref. AMM TASK 73-29-00-710-802).
(d) Do the LRU identification test (menu mode) on Channel A and Channel B and confirm the programmed N1 trim and hardware configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 73-29-00-740-809).
5. Close-upCAUTION:
FAILURE TO POWER CYCLE THE EEC TWICE AFTER EEC INSTALLATION, EEC SOFTWARE LOADING, DATA ENTRY PLUG REPLACEMENT, OR DATA ENTRY PLUG PROGRAMMING CAN RESULT IN AN EGT INCREASE DURING THE NEXT ENGINE CYCLE.
(1) On the left or right MCDU, do this check: (a) Get access to the screen of the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST ENG (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-012).
(b) Push the line key adjacent to the FADEC1(2) A(B): The ENGINE MAIN MENU page comes into view.
(c) Do the FADEC test (menu mode) on Channel A or Channel B, one Channel only (Ref. AMM TASK 73-29-00-710-802).
(d) Do the LRU identification test (menu mode) on Channel A and Channel B and confirm the programmed N1 trim and hardware configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 73-29-00-740-809).
NOTE: OMAP software Part Number (PN) has an initialization time. If the PN of the OMAP Software (SW2) is not displayed, wait one minute and then re-run the LRU identification test.
