3. Job Set-up
Subtask 73-21-45-941-050-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch, and
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)

   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 73-21-45-420-050-A
A. Installation of the Pressure Sub-System (PSS) (1)
   (1) Remove all the COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION from the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
   (2) Make sure that the mating surfaces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
   (3) Lubrication of the bolts
     (a) Lubricate the threads of the three bolts (9) with the graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) .
   (4) Install the PSS (1) on the three mounting brackets (10).
   (5) Install the three bolts (9) to attach the PSS (1) to the three mounting brackets (10) and tighten them with your hand.
   (6) TORQUE the three bolts to between 120.8 and 109.3 lbf.in (1.37 and 1.24 m.daN ) T.
   (7) Engagement of the air tubes on the PSS (1):
     (a) Make sure that the mating surfaces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
     (b) Lubrication of the coupling nuts
WARNING: USE PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT. USE THE ENGINE OIL IN A WELL-VENTILATED AREA. ENGINE OIL IS TOXIC.
       1 Lubricate the threads of the coupling nuts (6), (7) and (8) with the engine oil (Material No.
CP2442) .
     (c) Engage and tighten the PS12 air tube coupling nut (8) with your hand.
     (d) TORQUE the PS12 air tube coupling nut (8) to between 150 and 135 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.53 m.daN ) T.
     (e) Engage and tighten the P3B air tube coupling nut (7) with your hand.
     (f) TORQUE the P3B air tube coupling nut (7) to between 309 and 265 lbf.in (3.49 and 2.99 m.daN )
T.
     (g) Engage and tighten the PS3 air tube coupling nut (6) with your hand.
     (h) TORQUE the PS3 air tube coupling nut (6) to between 309 and 265 lbf.in (3.49 and 2.99 m.daN )
T.
     (i) Installation of the safety wire:
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
       1 Install the two CP8002lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia 0.032 in. (0.81 mm) on the coupling nuts (6) and (7).
   (8) Connection of the harness electrical connectors to the applicable receptacles of the PSS (1) (
Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804):
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
     (a) Connect the HJ6B harness electrical connector (5) to the PSS (1).
     (b) Connect the HJ6A harness electrical connector (4) to the PSS (1).
   (9) Connection of the data entry plug (2):
     (a) Make sure that the data entry plug (2) is attached to the engine.
     (b) Connect the data entry plug (2) to the PSS receptacle (3).
     (c) Tighten the data entry plug (2) until you cannot see the color marks on the PSS receptacle (3).
NOTE: Use PLIERS - CONNECTOR, JAW, SOFT only if necessary.
     (d) Make sure that the data entry plug (2) does not move after you fully engage it.
