A. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that you did the procedure to prevent engine motoring and to stop the electrical supply to the Electronic Engine Control (EEC)
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-832).

B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.

A. Installation of the EEC
(2) Do a check that the Data Storage Unit (DSU) data part number selected is compatible with the EEC. Refer to SB PW1000G-C-72-00-0001-00A-930A-D.
(3) Install the EEC (1) and connect the wiring harnesses as follows:
(a) Install the EEC (1) as follows. See figure
(b) Align and install the EEC (1) to the EEC support brackets with the four bolts (3).
(c) TORQUE the four bolts (3) to between 195 and 175 lbf.in (2.20 and 1.98 m.daN )

(d) Attach the ground strap to the EEC (1) with the bolt (2).
(e) TORQUE the bolt (2) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN )

(f) Connect the tube (AS01) to the EEC (1). See figure
(g) TORQUE the tube (AS01) B-nut to between 225 and 200 lbf.in (2.54 and 2.26 m.daN )

(4) Connect the connectors to the receptacles as follows:
(a) Examine, align and engage the connectors.
(b) Push lightly inward on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
(c) Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
(d) Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
(e) While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
(f) Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
(5) Connect the harness connectors to the EEC (1) as follows:
(a) Connect the Data Storage Unit (DSU) to the EEC (1) receptacle (J99).
(b) Connect the harness (WF01) connector (P2) to the EEC (1) receptacle (J2).
(c) Connect the harness (WF07) connector (P8) to the EEC (1) receptacle (J8).
(d) Connect the harness (WF02) connector (P1) to the EEC (1) receptacle (J1).
(e) Connect the harness (WF06) connector (P7) to the EEC (1) receptacle (J7).
(f) Connect the harness (W03) connector (P4) to the EEC (1) receptacle (J4).
(g) Connect the harness (W03) connector (P14) to the EEC (1) receptacle (J14).
(h) Connect the harness (W03) connector (P6) to the EEC (1) receptacle (J6).
(i) Connect the harness (W04) connector (P3) to the EEC (1) receptacle (J3).
(j) Connect the harness (W04) connector (P13) to the EEC (1) receptacle (J13).
(k) Connect the harness (W04) connector (P5) to the EEC (1) receptacle (J5).
(6) Make sure that most current EEC part number is installed. Check the number written on the label to the most recent EEC/PHMU software service bulletin.
5. Close-upCAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(1) Removal of the protection covers: CAUTION:
REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
(a) Make sure that you remove COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine. (2) Do a check that the Data Storage Unit (DSU) data part number selected is compatible with the EEC. Refer to SB PW1000G-C-72-00-0001-00A-930A-D.
(3) Install the EEC (1) and connect the wiring harnesses as follows:
(a) Install the EEC (1) as follows. See figure
(b) Align and install the EEC (1) to the EEC support brackets with the four bolts (3).
(c) TORQUE the four bolts (3) to between 195 and 175 lbf.in (2.20 and 1.98 m.daN )

(h) TORQUE the tube (AS01) B-nut again to between 225 and 200 lbf.in (2.54 and 2.26 m.daN )
. (4) Connect the connectors to the receptacles as follows:
(a) Examine, align and engage the connectors.
(b) Push lightly inward on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
(c) Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
(d) Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
(e) While you tighten, push the connector in and from side to side.
(f) Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
(5) Connect the harness connectors to the EEC (1) as follows:

(b) Connect the harness (WF01) connector (P2) to the EEC (1) receptacle (J2).
(c) Connect the harness (WF07) connector (P8) to the EEC (1) receptacle (J8).
(d) Connect the harness (WF02) connector (P1) to the EEC (1) receptacle (J1).
(e) Connect the harness (WF06) connector (P7) to the EEC (1) receptacle (J7).
(f) Connect the harness (W03) connector (P4) to the EEC (1) receptacle (J4).
(g) Connect the harness (W03) connector (P14) to the EEC (1) receptacle (J14).
(h) Connect the harness (W03) connector (P6) to the EEC (1) receptacle (J6).
(i) Connect the harness (W04) connector (P3) to the EEC (1) receptacle (J3).
(j) Connect the harness (W04) connector (P13) to the EEC (1) receptacle (J13).
(k) Connect the harness (W04) connector (P5) to the EEC (1) receptacle (J5).
(6) Make sure that most current EEC part number is installed. Check the number written on the label to the most recent EEC/PHMU software service bulletin.
CAUTION:
IF ONLY THE EEC WAS REPLACED, MAKE SURE THAT THE DATA STORAGE UNIT (DSU) INSTALLED ON THE ENGINE IS REINSTALLED IN THE REPLACEMENT EEC. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS, ENGINE OPERATION MAY BE AFFECTED.
(7) Examine the assembly for foreign objects, damage and correct assembly. Subtask 73-21-01-410-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(5) Make sure that all the circuit breakers shown in the paragraph Procedure of the engine interface unit installation are closed. If they are not, close them in the recommended sequence

(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(5) Make sure that all the circuit breakers shown in the paragraph Procedure of the engine interface unit installation are closed. If they are not, close them in the recommended sequence

B. Tests
(1) Do the test N°6 - EEC - Idle test (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-00-710-807).
(2) If the aircraft is operated in CAT III conditions, do the operational test of the LAND CAT III capability (Ref. AMM TASK 22-97-00-710-001).
