A. Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

B. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER CONTROL SW is in OFF position
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

F. Do the EIS start procedure (upper and lower ECAM DU's only) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(1) Make sure that on the SD fuel page the LP valve is shown closed.

G. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040):
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

4. Procedure
Subtask 73-11-49-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the Fuel Tubes
(1) Cut and remove the lockwire from the insulation housing (50). Remove the housing from the fuel filter differential pressure switch.
(2) Disconnect the electrical connector 4000ELA from the pressure switch.
(3) Put a CONTAINER 4 L (1 USGAL) below the fuel filter to catch the drained fuel.
(4) Disconnect the lower tubes (15) and (20) from the unions (40) in the fuel filter. Let the fuel drain into the container.
(5) Remove the nuts (35), the bolts (25), and the clamps (30) that attach the tubes to the brackets on the engine.
(6) Disconnect the tubes:

CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTER TORQUE TO THE TUBES WHEN YOU DISCONNECT THE LOWER TUBES FROM THE UPPER TUBES.

(a) Disconnect the lower tubes (15) and (20) from the upper tubes (10) and (5). Remove the tubes from the engine.
(b) Disconnect the upper tubes (5) and (10) from the pressure switch. Remove the tubes from the engine.
(7) Remove the unions (40) and packings (45) from the fuel filter. Discard the packings (45).
(8) Put a COVER - PROTECTION on the tube coupling nuts, the pressure switch, the fuel filter, and the electrical connector 4000ELA.
