3. Job Set-up
Subtask 72-62-41-941-051-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch, and
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

4. Procedure
Subtask 72-62-41-420-050-A
A. Installation of the Accessory Gearbox (AGB) Transfer Shaft
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE COMPONENTS OF THE OIL SYSTEM IF THE ENGINE IS HOT. THESE COMPONENTS STAY HOTTER THAN OTHER COMPONENTS. HOT COMPONENTS CAN BURN YOU.
WARNING: DO NOT OPEN THE OIL SYSTEM UNTIL THE PRESSURE GOES TO ZERO. THE PRESSURE GOES TO ZERO APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES AFTER AN ENGINE STOPS. A PRESSURIZED OIL SYSTEM CAN RELEASE A SPRAY OF HOT OIL THAT CAN BURN YOU.
WARNING: DO NOT LET ENGINE OIL STAY ON YOUR SKIN FOR A LONG TIME. FLUSH THE OIL FROM YOUR SKIN WITH WATER. THE OIL IS POISONOUS AND CAN GO THROUGH YOUR SKIN AND INTO YOUR BODY.
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.
WARNING: YOU MUST USE CORRECT APPLICABLE GLOVES, FACEMASK, EYESHIELDS AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHES AT ALL TIMES.
WARNING: ALWAYS USE APPROVED EQUIPMENT AND PROCEDURES TO LIFT PARTS. STAY OUT FROM BELOW LOADS. IF THE PARTS ACCIDENTALLY MOVE OR FALL, THEY CAN CAUSE AN INJURY OR KILL YOU.
CAUTION: DO NOT LET OIL GET ON THE ENGINE OR OTHER COMPONENTS. IMMEDIATELY CLEAN THE OIL WHEN IT FALLS ON THEM. OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Remove all the COVER - PROTECTION and the CAP - PROTECTION from the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
   (2) Make sure that the starter is removed from the AGB. If not, remove the starter from the AGB (Ref. AMM TASK 80-11-05-000-801).
   (3) Prevent the AGB to rotate when you connect the transfer shaft (1).
   (4) Remove the manual control cover (2) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-63-03-000-801).
   (5) Install the 956A7613 ADAPTER, LOCK - CORE ENGINE in the manual control gear.
   (6) Inspect the following AGB and TGB interface areas for cleanliness and finding:
     (a) Transfer shaft splines.
     (b) AGB cavity.
   (7) Installation of the transfer shaft.
CAUTION: DO NOT PUT FORCE ON THE TRANSFER SHAFT DURING THE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION. IF YOU PUT FORCE, DAMAGE TO THE PARTS CAN OCCUR.
     (a) Install the 956A6674 SLIDE HAMMER & ADAPTER - TGB TRANSFERT SHAFT on the transfer shaft (1).
     (b) Install the transfer shaft (1) through the AGB with the 956A6674 SLIDE HAMMER & ADAPTER - TGB TRANSFERT SHAFT.
   (8) Gently engage the transfer shaft (1) into the AGB.
   (9) Connect the transfer shaft (1).
     (a) Check the alignment between the AGB transfer shaft and the TGB port.
     (b) Slide the transfer shaft (1) through the TGB.
     (c) Gently engage the spline shaft of the transfer shaft (1) through the AGB into the TGB horizontal bevel gear.
   (10) Remove the 956A6674 SLIDE HAMMER & ADAPTER - TGB TRANSFERT SHAFT.
   (11) Install the retaining ring (3) into the AGB with the 956A7632 FIXTURE, INSTALL - RING RETAINER TGB SHAFT.
   (12) Remove the 956A7613 ADAPTER, LOCK - CORE ENGINE from the manual control gear.
   (13) Install the manual control cover (2) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-63-03-400-801).
   (14) Install the starter (Ref. AMM TASK 80-11-05-400-801).
5. Close-up

A. Test(s)
   (1) Do an idle leak check of the engine (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-815).

B. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
